Wait? JJ isn't a commercial film? What did it lack? It had Galti Se mistake dance number, chase scene, romantic scene, mystery, drama, suspense, action. It had the famous RK-Kat jodi. Sui Dhaaga is indeed commercial but it aint a masala film nor a biopic on grand scale showing masala themes like Sanju. SD opening at 12 to 15cr is bigger deal than Sanju with Hirani factor, biopic hype and grand cast at 34cr. Because Sui Dhaaga besides Varun & Anushka doesn't have any hype at this point where as Sanju was one of the most talked films of last few years. And trust me without Ranbir the film would've done that huge. Hirani is the key.

Just like Rishi Kapoor begged Hirani to save Kapoor Khandan from defamation. Expect same scenario in few years. been 11 years and RK is still the next big thing. 😆

And Deepak, don't give crap movie excuses. Varun's films weren't rated up so high. Judwaa 2 with quite poor WOM was 3rd highest grossing Bollywood flick of last year. Sadly RK couldn't take Besharam to that level.

RK has been around for 11 years - got 4 100cr plus films

Varun has been around for 6 years. got 4 100cr plus films.

Difference is Varun is likely to overtake. RK lags behind

Umm Flames. Calm down!!!! I ain't a fool to think that Shoojit's slowest film till date, with no music and big cast, with even SRK as lead would open at 10cr. Tall claims are the ones who really think RK is huge after Sanju. See Brahmastra and Sanju comparisons 😆
