Varun until now hasn't worked with big shots like Hirani, Bhansali or Adi Chopra. But good things await on list. Ranbir has to beat his Sanju record with his next which is near impossible but Varun with every film will get bigger.

btw judwa 2 didnt outgross yjhd!! u were claiming it gonna outgross it. considering its 2018 and 5 years down the line with holiday release ticket inflation taken into account!!!!

rk movie mightnt beat his sanju but will still outgross varun's biggest😆 now if shamshera becomes hit, it is because of adi chopra according to u lol!!!!

And like you expected an art film with no cast or music to open with 10cr plus. Bombay Velvet was promoted as commercial film, with Amit Trivedi's hyped music, Anushka Sharma & Karan Johar in cast. What did October have? No music, no promotions, every major character in the film were first timers baring Varun. Yet both had same opening

Watch Sui Dhaaga's opening. It won't be hyped as much as JJ or Sanju. But for it's capability, genre and reach. It will be double digit opening easily

The thing with Varun is that he doesn't have a colourful personal life or trophy GFs to be always in limelight, has been in a stable relationship for more than a decade or so (its pretty rare in atleast this gen of BW) anyways its like after 6 years he is getting officially clicked with Natasha (who is a non-industry regular girl) so not surprising that ppl don't like be as speculative about him & neither does he give that many controversial or W*F statements 😆

He has always been in news mainly for his professional life, ab Diwali 2020 tak ki official film announcements bhi kar ke baitha so wo discussion is also futile 😆 koi ni Sui Dhaaga promotions start from 7th Aug itself hopefully we'll see more of him, having said that I personally feel its a good thing that he is not tooon ur face or over-exposed as it kills the charm so good move for longevity purpose IMO.

As for his lack of Big Blockbuster (despite a 100 % success ratio) , well so far he has only done mediocre or downright crappy films with strictly avg or blah directors which he has managed to elevate mainly on his own, Badlapur & October being the only exceptions but again those were too off-beat esp the latter (which btw is still the most acclaimed film of the year despite being an underperformer) still its good that all his cards are not out in open😆

same with bombay velvet. noone liked d traier and movie music was a flop. your reasoning for both movies is so selective n biased😆
if varun is biggest young star, then he should open his movie with big numbers!

sui dhaga is a commercial film and ofc its gonna get big numbers. so u see u cant have both worlds. truth is ranbir is always a bigger star than varun.

No. And you do know Sanju has weakest footfalls for any high grosser? Years down the lane, tickets inflation factor won't do much favour for the film. Padmaavat has better footfalls even.

So no chance there.

Shamshera is a YRF product, let it hit on screens on time. We will see on that. Rannbhoomi is a much bigger film that year on Diwali.

Kalank will take out Brahamastra & Rannbhoomi will knockout Shamshera with ease. Now shoot off. And talk when they release

one blockbuster after a row of flops and disasters and just look at the arrogance dipping from ur comments. I remember the same arrogance after YJHD and then it took him another 5 years and hirani's name to repeat it again

atleast we varun fans accepts that he was not able to pull October as it was not targeted to the his set of audience

The fact that Sanju has covered this kind of distance is commendable since it is a non-holiday release.

What a time are Kapoors having at the Box Office. Both generations are winning accolades, with Rishi Kapoor gaining all around appreciation for this Friday's release Mulk, whereas Ranbir Kapoor has now scored the second biggest Bollywood grosser of all times. His Sanju has collected 341.50 crore so far and in the process has gone past PK collections of 340.80 crore The record set by Tiger Zinda Hai [339.25 crore] had already been surpassed a few days back and now with PK been history as well, the film is next only to Dangal [387.38 crore]. That record would stay intact too by quite some distance.

That said, the fact that Sanju has covered this kind of distance as well is commendable since it is a non-holiday release. Had there been a festival holiday over the weekend or anywhere in the first week, the collections would have been better by at least 15 crore and that would have elevated the overall lifetime total to around 360 crore. For now though, the film would have to settle in the vicinity of 343-344 crore.

With this, Rajkumar Hirani has now given five major successes in a row. His Munnabhai MBBS was a Hit, Lagey Raho Munnabhai was a Superhit, 3 Idiots was a Blockbuster, PK was an All Time Blockbuster and now Sanju is yet another All Time Blockbuster. One just hopes that the filmmaker doesn't take a big break again between Sanju and his next film and puts together something on floor in 2019 at the least.

As for Ranbir Kapoor, he should now have some fantastic times ahead, right till 2020 with films like Brahmastra, Shamshera and Luv Ranjan's untitled film with Ajay Devgn.

Yeah it collected more than a songless, heroineless art film like October's Lifetime but maths laga hi rahe ho so also keep in mind that Sanju's 1st Sunday was more than Double of Superishtarrr RK's Bombay Velvet's Lifetime as well (22 Cr wali All Time Disaster wale RK with udhaar ka stardom😆)

yup he did crap movies n failed big time but still he came with a bang. congo for your 50 crore blockbusters. no u varun fans show so much arrogance like his movie r all time ATBB then we expect him to open his movie with double digit numbers only!

rk lineup is amazing n he is not gonna fall below low earning blockbusters for sure😆

if bramhastra becomes bb its due to ayan. if shamshera becomes hit its only due to adi🥱
