NO 1st explain to me what Baahubali is 😆

Well Bahubali is a fantasy/mythological story told by a father to his son in parts as a series of characters starting with Shivagami over a period of years. The son who was raised on Amar Chitra Katha and happened to be a director and the father who was the writer for most of his films decided to make a movie. They roped in their cousin to do the music, their friend Prabas to star in as the lead. They wanted to make it a "Pan Indian" movie so Rana who was friends with KJO introduced them. That in a nutshell is the story of how Bahubali came about to the Hindi belt as far as I know. So blame KJO I say. 😆

There are few films launching with so many advantages as Dhadak. The press, publicly, two really endearing leads off screen, three weeks of no new release, youth factor, an original that made more than 100 crores on a minuscule budget, hit songs. The directors two previous movies are hits. There is absolutely no reason this cannot make 100 crores plus.
If it fails I will blame the Dharma culture of butchering regional movies or not having the ability to translate the soul of what made it great to a Hindi audience. I've seen it with OKK and OKJ the Hindi version. I will also blame Shashank for not being able to capture the off screen personality and electricity of two of the best new comers in a while on screen.

^ I don't know why but somehow I really think that Dharma is going to hit the bulls eye with this one content and commercial wise. The biggest advantage Dhadak has is it's source material which was a pure depiction of first time love which is very rare in Bollywood these days. There has been absolutely nothing except for the three songs of Dhadak. I think they do have a lot of confidence in this film because they are so hush hush about everything. They haven't released the video of Vaara Re (Which sounds like a pre climax song) or even the solo song on Janhvi(which according to media reports has been shot long back). Even the trailer had very little of the serious parts of the film which were shown as glimpses. So I feel they are hiding a lot in order to present something that is surprising.

One thing I'm really happy about despite having watched Sairat many times is that most probably I'll be watching a different film with a different treatment. Atleast that's what I grabbed from the BTS and dialogue promo. Shashank has treated Madhu's character differently than Parshya, probably showing him as a normal guy and not like one of those macho hatta katta mard ko dard nahi hota type of leads. Atleast it's evident in the promo they released. Chotu sa ghaav hai. 😆 Even the Calcutta bits look different than the Hyderabad ones from the new BTS they released a while back.

I think he wrote Madhu based on Ishaan . He comes across as sweet, nerdy and laid back. As for spoilers the ending of Sairat is in Wiki so I think if people google they may find it. Question is what will the people who did see Sairat do ? Watch Dhadak or not especially in the Maharashtra belt. I am not planning on going to the theater, lazy, will catch it sometime later. But I am not the target audience, all those mall people who these two danced ZIngaat for are. 😆

As for songs, KJO distinctly said 4 songs, Zingaat and Yad lagla remake and 2 original songs. I never heard of the solo song of Jhanvi so IDK. The second half of Sairat does not have songs, but this is Dharma so they will have one in the second half I believe. I like the solo song of Archie, she drives the scooter absentmindedly on the papad(?) drying outside just like Ishaan runs on it but for the Pehli Baar song.

I am very curious as to Shashank's treatment of the second half. The poverty aspect and most importantly the slap. He put Alia in the trunk in Badri and I was mad. I am curious to see how he treats the slap.

Yep, and this one definitely is. I wouldn't say there's anything new about the story -- it has been seen in multiple movies before like Ek Duje Ke Liye, Qayamat se Quayamat tak, and more recently Ishaqzaade and Ram Leela to some extent...however the treatment really is something else. It's been years since I saw a movie about pure, young love and its trials..and characters that I actually cared about.

I don't trust KJo either..Ok Jaanu was a poor version of OKK. But let's see what Dharma did.
