Not really. Most of the general bollywood audience have not watched Sairat. Nitpicking will happen from may be critics and critics kind of people who want to compare both. For general audience they will only care if it is engaging/entertaining or not. This should be easily doing 80-90crrs with the buzz/hype it have.

If the film does well and Jahnvi gets good reviews (or even decent reviews), she will be hailed as the next big thing. A star kid delivering a decent performance in her first film is equivalent to an outsider pulling off a Joker on debut (Alia in Highway for example 😆). Am more curious to see what KJo does after this and if the film is successful, how he divides films between Jahnvi and Alia 🤣

Galaxy Gaiety Mumbai 3 out of 4 shows are 90% full while morning show is 80% full.

Why aren't they opening the advance booking of multiplexes? 😡

I think one factor that will play in favor of the film is that it looks different from Sairat. If it was a scene by scene copy with the same texture like Manasu Mallige, probably those who had watched Sairat wouldn't have watched it but that's not the case with Dhadak. The setting and characters look completely different, atleast from whatever that's shown in the promos.

Highly doubt he will do anything for Janhvi or even Sara.He has hardly promoted Dhadak, I think Alia will still be her laadi since she is his find unlike Janhvi or Sara. Both of them got Dharma films because of their parents unlike Alia whom Kjo groomed himself. So I think janhvi and Sara will only get leftovers.Ishaan toh is already being treated as an outsider by Kjo.😆

Good for the audience if that happens. Atleast we won't have the next set of starkids pushed down in every film by Kjo unlike Alia.😆

The bar is so low -- she just has to act even 10% well and she's set. Ishaan on the other hand will have to do probably 95% well.

It's true that KJo will be more loyal to Alia since she is his find but Jahnvi doesn't strike me as the type of person who will stay dependent on KJo anyways. She comes from an illustrious family who make films as well and they will make something work for her as well. Plus the will be people other than Dharma.. . Her mother's well wishers.

Alia on the other hand - Mahesh Bhatt would never really make a film for Alia given the kinds of films they're famous for. They only considered her for Aashiqui type films.

Sara I can see sticking to KJo more. Plus she gives off a haughty vibe which is more KJo's type anyways. But if Dhadak is successful, Kjo will most definitely want to cash in on the hype. The only thing is most of KJo directors are already busy with their next films.

At the end of the day, KJo loves successful people. He definitely has a huge soft corner for Alia but am really not sure if he will keep giving her the best films if she starts flopping. I mean he seems to have given up on Sid and prefers Varun over him though it was the exact opposite when they started out 😆 So I definitely think KJo will be conflicted if Jahnvi does well. And if Alia's films start flopping, I have no doubt that KJo will flip 😆 Just because he loves Alia more than the rest, I don't think he'd let that override his basic character 😆 That said, I don't really blame him. He is a businessman at the end of the day and is not out to do charity. I only have a problem with his never ending penchant for drama 😆

@choco- I know. And most of star kids in the recent past have had horrible debuts. Ranbir, Varun, Alia etc. They proved themselves only in their subsequent films. And if Alia can be hyped for Highway and called Meryl Streep (I found her pretty inconsistent in the film though I believe she has improved a lot post that), Jahnvi will be set for the next few years if she delivers a decent performance in her very first film 😆

P. S. Call me biased but RK deserved the hype post WUS cos he was fantastic in the film IMO 😆 And Varun wasn't that hyped initially. He had to deliver quite a few successful films till he was acknowledged. And i don't think he was ever dependent on KJo beyond a point. In fact am pretty sure KJo is primarily signing him cos he has proved himself. Anyway my point is that a star kid from an illustrious family doing well in his or her first film will be made a big deal. And am really curious to see what KJo does if it happens 😆

If Jhanvi is successful, KJO will not get first dibs on her. Her family will. Heck Boney is a successful producer himself and so is Rhea. He will not be able to monopolize her like he did with Alia. Sara maybe more a Dharma girl than Jhanvi will.

I will not be shocked if Jhanvi gets offers from the South too. IDK if she will entertain them but if she gets an offer from a very respected director I can see her work down South too. All that to say, Jhanvi will not follow Alia's path IMO. She has more options.

There is a reason why Sri Devi waited for KJo to launch Jahnvi. I personally think SRK and Dharma give the best launch possible (in terms of publicity) to newcomers. Of course the newcomers are only star kids in KJo's case but with SRK, its more diverse 😆 Boney produces mediocre films and Rhea primarily makes chick filcks which dont exactly propel you to stardom. Am sure given a choice, Jahnvi would rather choose Dharma over Boney or Rhea at this point. But if she is smart, she should juggle things like Varun and work with everyone while still doing Dharma films.
