The problem with remakes/adaptations especially of movies that are so famous already is many people find it hard to judge the remake for itself and only end up comparing. The review is essentially a comparison topic. Dhadak always seemed inspired by Sairat but Sairat is too raw, real, and gritty for typical BW.. especially a PH like Dharma. They were bound to change things.

I am just gold KJO himself did not sit and direct Dhadak, because after knowing KJO's version of unrequited love (ADHM)🤪 and Pyar dosti hai shit (KKHH)😆, it is scary if he would want to touch a topic which is based on honor killing.

I think it's normal human tendency for people to appreciate the original more than the remake (if the original is something they loved) esp when its a critically acclaimed and celebrated piece of work. This happens even with well made adaptations. For example, Viraasat is a well made film IMO yet I could never really get myself to fully appreciate it cos of how much I liked the original Tamil film. So its not surprising that the same thing is happening with Dhadak. It doesnt help that Sairat is fresh in everyones memory and it was raw and gritty while this is a KJofied version of the same. Khaitan was never going to make something amazing anyway. That said, the WOM seems a lot better and even Jahnvi-Ishaan are getting better reviews than most other star kids did in recent times in their first film. I mean it cant be worse than a Saawariya or SOTY 😆
