Vicky maybe an insider but not a star kid. His father is a technician a popular one but not many outside the industry recognise him by his face unlike say Abhishek's father or Ranbir's father.

Yeah right, Vicky Kaushal is a "star kid" like Ajay Devgan was a star kid. Ajay crafted his career with his talent and hard work. Formed a production company and whatever he has he has earned himself.

Want to know the difference between a true, blue starkid and Vicky? It is in the opportunity. Harsh Kapoor got to work with A List directors and after 1.5 crores total BO in Bhavesh Joshi is playing lead in a biopic and his father Anil Kapoor is starring in it to help him. He gets to play lead despite BO and zero talent.

Vicki is a phenomenal actor but he is doing things like Lust Stories and second lead in Sanju. Even in Raazi he is just a secondary character. He is handsome and can act, so why not give him lead ?

Saiyami Kher, Kiara Advani. All pretty. All can be called "star kids" the way Ranveer is. But look at the opportunities they get. So no they do not count as "star kids". The ones that count are from major film families and get opportunities that are undeserved.

Let us see if Sara or Jhanvi deserve their opportunities over Kiara and Saiyami. My guess is no. Heck even Ishaan is way better than Jhanvi in acting, but will he get opportunities or struggle ? Even nepotism has a caste system. That is BW.

I think many came into the business for the heck of it or should I say easy money. When realised it isn't easy money and have to work very hard to sustain they quit or found other businesses in which they are good/decent.

Only Hrithik, Ranbir and to some extent Akshaye khanna were passionate about movies as a craft and worked hard to be in the industry hence sustained.

Sunny deol also was good enough hence had a lengthy career and stardom. He was a force to recon with in the late 80's throughout 90's till early 2000's. His downfall happened not coz the lack of passion but his inability to reinvent n to keep up with the changing taste of the audiences.

Bobby on the otherhand was an entitled brat who banked on his father n elder brother' stardom.

Yes I edited my post. Sunny, Sanjay, Govinda n Anil were stars in the 90's era among them Sunny n Sanjay can be actually considered superstars.
