Hailed as the next superstar with an impeccable record of success where floppy Dishoom was ignored here.His film October tanked this year.After Sanju's success what is Varun's position?or He was never popular than Ranbir.

who said dishoom was a flop? LOL

you must be following some wrong trade analyst.

Meanwhile you asked what is his position

well , his position is termed as secure

Of course everybody wants to be called as the No.1 star.but is it permanent?NO.

What is relaxing for varun is he has built somehow a good fanbase who supports him on first day first show by coming in good numbers.

They saw october trailer , the fans knew October was a slow movie a non dhawan movie. A meditative classic..not for masses.Still people contributed enough in weekends.

Varun knows his next sui dhaaga will open at good numbers because his fan base likes to see him in fascinating avatars.

Whether he is at no, 4 or no, 8 doesnt matter.

what matters is he is able to recover the costs of the producers and distributors.

Lakhs of people come to mumbai to be stars.Hardly few become

Star sons, other competitors, strugglers or the bad phase ones like SID malhotra , aditya roy kapoor have not built that loyal base .

so when we look from that perspective we can find varun is very lucky, he has loyal fan base

so position doesnt matter, what matters is he is a safe bet.

Honestly alot depends on Sui Dhaaga,

while ppl are saying its early to give RK & RS superstar tag as they lack consistency, Varun has consistency but lacks that one Big blockbuster

So right now its his 100% success ratio & professional work ethic working in his favour postion wise, his line up isnt all that great either so unless ofcourse October springs up a Newton level surprise😆 & change the tide, waiting for Sui Dhaaga & announcement of his one unrevealed film he has signed apart from Kalank, Rannbhoomi & ABCD3

Varun is consistent. People can typically expect to recover their money with his films. He will need to pick better films though -- he doesn't really have any memorable ones and that's why he has no huge grosser. Movies with Remo aren't going to take him anywhere.

No impact. All the current BW A-listers are either people who have survived for the last 25 years or starkids who have given hits. One hit from yet another starkid doesnt impact anyone.

I think the only people Sanju impacts are Salman and Aamir. Salman because he got beaten so badly by Ranbir. Though he will get another chance with Bharat. And Aamir as some sheen comes off his own stardom contributing to 3I and PK. And probably Hirani will go to Ranbir again with his next film which wont make Aamir happy.

Dont bother. This topic is going to be raided by Varun fans who will use a technicality to force you to believe that films like Dishoom, Dilwale and October are "successful"

The key word they use is "successful"...because the verdict is semi-hit or average...they wont use the word HIT. LOL

They think small "successes" are more important than big dhamaka's like Sanju, Padmaavat etc etc.

The truth is that its all about Ranbir and Ranveer and everyone else is just decoration
