Sanju Heads For Highest Opening Day Of 2018

Sanju is heading for the biggest opening day of the year as the collections look likely to cross the 30 crore nett mark if this pace keeps up. The film opened lower than Race 3 at many places but the way its going it will have matched the collections of Race 3 in places like Ludhiana, Surat, Jodhpur etc while it will be ahead in the metros like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

The first day collections should finish at least 10% ahead of Race 3 which would mean a 30 crore nett plus total. It could even challenge the 31.25 crore nett of Avengers - Infinity which was the highest opening including all films. The film will not quite reach the business of that film at multiplexes but Sanju has a far wider release to cover the shortfall.

The way the first day is gone it is possible that there will be growth on Saturday from even this level though the multiplexes where it is outstanding could face capacity issues similar to what happened with Avengers - Infinity War which had a flat weekend. The plus is that Sanju is a wider release so there is potential of huge growth in single screens and smaller centers if the film gets appreciation there.

Like I'd mentioned in the Sanju trailer thread too, this film reminds me of the bengali film Dhananjoy (Based on the chilling Hetal Parekh rape case) where a rapist serving capital punishment was glorified and was being shown as a victim of conspiracy while the dead victim was shamed and accused of having sex with someone thereby proving that was the reason for her vaginal tear and not because of her being raped by the security guard. 🤢
I still don't get why do we even make films on such criminals when there's so many more kinds if stories that are waiting to be told. Even a film like Padmavati turned out to be a glorified account of an inhuman Sultan!

enjoy each and every moment of this.

our boy didn't win it by just showing on screen...he worked hard, earned it!

when we going to pay at windows, we know at least AN EPIC PERFORMANCE IS GUARANTEED!!!

i have been mocked few times when i said i watched floppy BV twice in theaters.

KOI SHARM NAHI...I AM PROUD MY BOY DID THAT MOVIE AND PROUD HE WENT FOR A MOVIE LIKE JAGGA JASOOS...JJ WAS SUCH A BRILLIANT ACT, MOVIE. IT BROKE MY HEART WHEN IT DIDN'T DO WELL.

Happy for Ranbir, but briahna'ji you have understand Sanjay Dutt is a factor too lol and Hirani too. This is kind of like Sushant's 20crore Dhoni - and yet we all know his real capability.
