Confirmed! Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra to star in Shotgun Shaadi

The makers of Shotgun Shaadi have been looking for a female lead opposite Sidharth Malhotra for quite some time now. A lot of actresses including Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sonakshi Sinha and Fatima Sana Shaikh were approached for the film but their dates were clashing with the dates the makers were looking to shoot on. However, now the makers can take a sigh of relief as Parineeti Chopra has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Sidharth. A source close to the actress said, "She has given a nod to the makers. She loved the idea and her character. She is going to play the character of a dabang girl in the film.
Sidharth Malhotra is playing a Bihari thug and he has already started taking lessons to get his accent right. Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra were first seen together in Dharma Productions and Phantom's joint venture Hasee Toh Phasee. Sidharth and Parineeti's pairing was loved by the audience and that's the reason the makers of Shotgun Shaadi decided to go ahead with their pairing. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shaailesh R Singh, Shotgun Shaadi, will be directed by Prashant Singh, a former associate of Aanand L Rai.
