Her name is Tarla Mehta. She was in Gandhi playing Sarojini Naidu. She's supposedly Supriya and Ratna Pathak's aunt. As far as I know, Shola aur Shabnam is the only lead role she had.

You are right, thats the edited version with just repeated shots of them crying😆
