Yeah they're just hits because of the budget but it was said that devdas is this huge hit when it's not. You take srk in his prime with the subject like devdas which is so famous + aish with madz + popular songs and you deliver just a hit. It should have been a blockbuster but wasn't even the biggest hit of the year. I remember as a kid when I found out that raaz beat devdas, laanat hain slb pe jo srk ke saath bhi hgoty nahin de paaya

Further even Ram Leela or bajirao are flops, I don't care but they aren't

should ask boi why the verdict is not written but in articles it was given a bb verdict


Also lol at Salman saying he gave 2 hits to slb when khamoshi was a big flop and he wants credit for hdds when he's the one who ruined it

so Salman should also take credit for all the flops he has given

Its not always about the "money' Devdas was a big movie, and even internationally so to speak. It made the most impact from any other SLB movie - and that's a FACT. It went to several film festivals and even Hollywood stars like Beyonc have watched the movie. The key word is IMPACT not Box office collections. We are in a different time and era now ofcourse films will "earn" more that doesnt mean anything though. Within 1 year people will forget Padamvat too.

On a serious note - I think all of SLB's films are overrated though. He's a terrible story teller. I personally think his best work was HDDCS. I fell asleep during Devdas, RL, Guzarish, BM and Padmavaat. Snooze-feast!

Also according to Varun fans as long as a movie has a verdict of average and above its considered a hit. So how come people are trying to make SLB hit's a flop in this topic?

HDDCS is a flop cuz its a HIT...but Dishoom is a hit even though its an "average" Someone explain this to me?

If you have to provide lists of how much a movie made, it's pointless. Nobody really cares and people forgot stats very quickly. It's about the impact a movie has.

Devdas was a bigger grosser than Raaz. Raaz was a bigger hit. I guess hit is determined in proportion to budget

Yes devdas had bigger budget owing to the extravagant sets and bigger actors like SRK Aish and Madhuri.

Alot of people hold the above films at a higher standard than RL, BM and Padmaavat. SLB only faltered with Saawariya and Guzarish - although I personally believe Guzarish was an amazing film just too depressing.

The real challenge for SLB would be to take on a non-actor and turn them into renowed performers like he did with Deepika, Ash, Ranveer etc

So hdds wasn't a big hit either. The verdict is merely of a hit not even superhit forget blockbuster

Verdicts can be deceptive, as they are directly influenced by budget. Because Devdas had more than 2 crores footfalls and its adjusted collection can be nearly 197 crores. Same with HDDCS with a footfalls of nearly 17million. I get what you mean, you have problem with the term "huge hit" right. Ok they were not huge hit because there budget was too high, but atleast we can na they grossed more in box office than many of the so called superhits.
