Looks like Jaya's own son in law, Ajay Jadeja didn't get her memo:

Here he went to Boston University, US last year to represent India. Look at Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and look at him. Is this is our culture???😆

This lady should understand, Priyanka didn't went there to represent the country but to attend her friend's wedding. When she tweet, India is 'free and independent" country, didn't she think that the citizen are free to wear anything they want without anyone dictating them?

Jaya Jaitly: "When somebody in a village in India says Sar dhako (cover your head), we don't want that... When somebody says, Don't wear jeans in college', we say Who are you to tell us a dress code?'. But if Queen in England descends an invitation and say you got to wear a hat, which is not part of your culture, you will start saying there was a dress code. I don't understand these various double standards

Looks like she is indirectly taking out her frustration and got a perfect chance in her mind to support those haryanawi khap panchayat people and others like them who have been putting restrictions on girls about what to wear...not to wear jeans ...not to have mobile phone etc etc Otherwise i don't see any similarities to compare 2 completely different things.

Her body. Her clothes. Her choice.
If a person breaks western formal dress codes to wear a traditional dress representative of their culture, I support them.

If a person breaks traditional norms and expectations to wear an outfit they want to wear, I support them.

She wasn't there to rep India so why dress Indian??
As for the dress code there were many who did play with those rules and as we can see previously at least 4 women chose to wear the saree. The Queen wasn't going to banish them for this.

Things people do and say to get attention is ridiculous.

Dosent matter , if women are restricted to 1 dresscode that is Saree then Men are restricted to Dhoti which he didnt wear. And fun fact he was actually representing our country but Priyanka wasnt.

My point was when the PM wore this and went to London noone batted an eye but when its Priyanka omg culture saree nonsense , its her choice what to wear and what not too.

And in the first place why did Jaya Jaitly tweet in " english " thats not our " tradition " she should write in Hindi no actually she should write it in Sanskrit.
