In other discussion threads people support equal pay but when a successful , bankable actress demands equal or more pay we criticise them . Having said that i truly believe if she gets an offer from good director but if the overall budget is low she might compromise the remuneration part.

Why will any woman take a career break in their peak? If Deepika was pregnant and decided to take one year break, it is understandable. Not now. I can only conclude, she is not getting what she is expecting. ( I think she deserves what she expects ). I don't want her to go back to SLB studios, even if they pay her the remuneration she demands. I want to see her in contemporary setting.

Deepika's ambitions are on one side and her dreams of being a homemaker is on the other side. She had given silly interviews in 2013 that she can quit films to be a housewife. She has amended that recently but I know her children and husband will be her greatest priority even over her career.

I hope she is being wise though, putting all your eggs in one basket is risky.

It is no mean feat for an actress to disappear for two years and still be considered the top actress. I don't think for a second she doesn't have offers but certainly she seems to have lost interest. Even if you don't like her and fair enough to that ,do you really think Deepika isn't getting offers? Hatred shouldn't make people lose objectivity, she is very much in demand and deserves the remuneration she is asking!

She even got her PR to cooldown this year. RS once said that she has a hawkeyed shark like team of managers who r always prompting n pushing her to excel n in comparison his team is very laidback. But this year in particular I see the roles have been reversed 😕

I sincerely hope it is a well thought out decision from her and also its her decision alone to take it slow and not on someone' behest.

If she isn't doing movies because she doesn't want to reduce her fee, I say good. f**k it Deepika. Don't lower your standards for those sexist duffers who would happily throw away 20-30 crores on losers like Ranbir but can't digest an actress asking for a deserving pay. It isn't like she has financial problems, she can afford to say no. She can decide what kind of work she wants to do. If those idiots in BW make acting a non-viable option then she can decide to do something else. I support her totally. If she had been giving flops, I would've said don't do a Kangana on us. But even while giving the biggest hits of the year, if she can't demand her pay then so be it. I really miss watching her. But she doesn't have to compromise to stay relevant. She's achieved a lot and if she wants, she can relax or not.
