Nope I don't think time is up. Time will never really be up on patriotic films.

Akki is moving away or mixing it up b/c all his films look the same now and he's done too many patriotic/social films in the last few years.

I am not even a fan of Ranveer but I think it's strange how people in here think both Ranveer and Deepika's career is finished when they delivered the biggest Hit of the year PV😆

Raazi doing well is not only on Alia though.. While she is commendable, patriotism seldom fails.. Throw in the Pakistani angle and the movie surely generates attention

Definitely bumped up the Sunday and Monday figures by minimum 2cr. Friday and Saturday figures seemed normal. I am just comparing the buzz with other successful women oriented films like Neerja, Queen and Kahaani.

Moving away?

His next 2 films are patriotic themed. Doing Housefull 2 doesn't mean he will commit to masala films again.

Patriotic films if made we does not only generate hype but tend to sustain well at the BO. Rang De Basanti, Airlift, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Dangal, Neerja, Raazi, Chak De India and even social drama with awareness messages have been a great pull PK, Toilet, OMG, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Kesari, Gold, Sui Dhaaga and Bharat are made with social awareness messages in it.

Still it means it has done a Business of 34 crores in 4 days?? That is still huge for a female oriented movie though.

On topic, there are others doing well, but they're in a different age bracket as Alia so it doesn't make any difference. I guess there's some boredom with DP, Kat as well..so despite hits, something is missing.

As for the ones in her age bracket, there's no competition. Pari ne pair pe khud kuladi mari and Shraddha is just too far behind. Kriti isn't doing enough either; she seems always busy with Sushant. Disha needs to do some films. But competition always comes out of the blue when it's least expected.. Alia's had the easiest career of all without any struggle at all in any way. The one flop she had she whined for days in media. I don't think this one can handle failure or actual competition. The hard part is staying at #1, especially with her mentor's attention divided between others. Getting to#1 is much easier in comparison.

But Shreya, it is a good film IMO. The theatre I went to, most people had good things to say about it. And it's not one of those polarising films which you either love or hate. It's a straight forward well written thriller. So am not surprised it's doing well. Of course am clueless about BO and how figures are inflated (seems impossible to figure out unless it's on the face) but all am saying is, it's a good film. And I'd give equal credit to Meghna and the cast of the film. Good writing trumps star power anyday.
