Ajay Devgn's Raid continues to mint money at the box office

Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz's Raid continued its successful run at the box office despite strong contenders like Tiger Shroff and Rani Mukerji. The movie that was riding high on the critical and viewers' positive reviews finally managed to enter the prestigious 100 crore club, almost a month after its release. The period crime thriller which saw Ajay as a non corrupt Income Tax officer was praised for its strong storyline, stellar performance and direction. With the movie minting Rs 100 crores at the box office already, it has joined the league of other 2018 hits like Padmaavat, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Baaghi 2. Previously, Ajay Devgn had seven 100 crore movies in his kitty with hits like Golmaal Again, Son of Sardaar, Singham Returns, Golmaal 3, Bol Bachchan, Singham and Shivaay. Now with Raid managing to draw the equal sum, it has become Ajay's eighth movie and Ileana's third after Rustom and Barfi. Though Golmaal Again continues to be the biggest hit in Ajay Devgn's career with a total box office collection of Rs 143.33 crores, we now wait to see if Raid manages to collect more numbers. Made on the budget of Rs 45 crore including promotion and advertising, the film has turned out to be a hit at the ticket window. Raid is based on true events which occurred in Uttar Pradesh and has been inspired by real-life Income Tax raids which were held by Indian Revenue Services back in the '80s and 90's.
