Delay in Padmaavat messed up her schedule.She has not been whiling away her time at all. After BM released she was busy for most of 2016 and early 2017 with XXX and trying her luck in Hwood by networking and socialising. All of 2017 went into Padmaavat. 2018 was going to be the year she focused on Sapna Didi and had PV not gotten delayed, they could have released the movie in October as originally planned.

I do not understand how you concluded then that she has lost interest in films. As for her fees, maybe if she really loves a project and needs to take a pay cut for it she will. Not wanting to settle for second best is not equivalent to losing interest.

Only Kajol hadn't been absent from the industry for 2 years, was not refusing movies due to a price hike and in fact had good offers. Kajol didn't leave the industry cuz the offers had dried up, she was at the top of her game with people lining up to sign her. Deepika is out of her mind for charging 12 crores. These days the big budgeted movies are Khan starers and they don't have roles or need for someone like Deepika. The rest of the movies are medium budget movies, which cannot accommodate DP's 12 crores. She needs to take a minute a analyze the damage she has done (and is still doing) to her career. She is not some exceptional actress that filmmakers cannot do without, she has proved with Padmaavat that she is mediocre. She could've achieved so much had she not fallen prey to her jealousy of Priyanka and tried a hand at Hollywood. But looks like the damage is irreversible now.
