Deepika Padukone is one of the most
talented and beautiful actors that we have in
Bollywood. She has managed to captivate
millions of hearts with her spectacular
performances and dimpled smile. The actor
has become a role model for many over the
years. On International Women's Day,
Deepika has a special message for all the
beautiful women out there.
Deepika sends a strong message to her fans
and told a leading daily, "I think it's okay to
take out time for yourself. I think women
are constantly taking out time for other
people. Especially, homemakers, I think it's
important to take a breather and do things
for yourself. It's important to be selfish
sometimes and take care of yourself. "
While talking about the love she gets from
her fans, Deepika expressed, "I feel an
immense amount of gratitude if I may say at
this point. I just want to do good work, play
memorable characters and to be honest in
everything I do. Right now, I am just seeing
the after effect of that. I want to thank
everyone who has been part of my journey."
The actor is in London currently and is
spending some quality time with family.
Deepika spoke to a leading daily about her
family and especially her father, Prakash
Padukone. She said, "His radiance reflects in
his personality. Since my team stays in touch
with dad regarding my work, they always
talk about him and say, How cute is your
father'. He is such a humble person and
there is so much goodness in him that it all
radiates. I don't think my sister, Anisha and I
could have asked for a better role model
than him.
About her future projects, Deepika had told
a leading daily, "The only way to go is ahead.
Sometimes, you need to pause, think and
reflect. But the endeavour is always to move
forward. I have no idea how it is going to
unfold.
She added, "There is a difference between
pausing and stopping. I feel it is important
to pause, think, reflect and then move on.
Hopefully, there is only one way to go in life,
which is moving forward. In times like these
(when one has tasted success), what my
parents have always taught me It is great to
celebrate these time, but not for too long'".

Totally agree with her. Self care is very important but people don't engage in it often enough. Having dealt with depression herself, I am sure she truly values the importance of taking care of yourself before others.

Though I hate when people say that its ok to be 'selfish' and take care of yourself. Your peace of mind and health are very important, people should stop referring to that as selfish which has a negative connotation. I hear this term all the time when people talk about the importance of taking care of themselves and their physical && mental health. Being selfish is a bad thing, taking care of yourself is not.
