English Vinglish is just the tip of an iceberg. But I guess that's the only film of hers most of the millineals would have watched.

Anyway, those who haven't watched it should watch it ASAP.

I think I would have watched it like 10 times at least.

Yeah great performance by sridevi in EV. But she hadn't won filmfare for it. Vidhya had that year for kahani

That was my first film of Sridevi and I was completely bowled over! She effortlessly stripped her superstar image and completely became Shashi Godbole. Not for a moment, did i feel I was watching a superstar on the screen. Shashi's mannerism, fear, vulnerability, warmth was so naturally portrayed by Sridevi.

My only disappointment was the French guy not getting his cup of coffee with Shashi. Come on! He deserved it 😆

Don't get me started..i can go on and on and on about how insanely brilliant sri was in that movie

like someone mentioned..she became shashi

i obviously have seen many movies of sri but that was 90s and I was a kid..

this was my first real experience of watching a sri movie and man..i was speechless

her walk..her mannerisms..the way she looks..reacts..there was not a trace of sridevi there..not a trace..it was shashi and it was as real as real is..i felt i have met shashi..spent time with her..after the movie ended..as if i have known her..such was her brilliance in making it this real and this heartfelt..

that scene where she is insulted in the coffee shop was so brilliantly portrayed..

shashi was the best performance of 2012..and i by no means hold into account the unfortunate fact of sri not being anymore with us while saying this..i have always felt that..

the way sri would just become her characters..compare kajal of judai with shashi...she would just become her characters..

i cannot care less for filmfare..audience is the king..the fact that today while sri is not with us..we are still discussing and praising her act in that movie says she won the nation with her brilliant act..which is way above some filmfare award..for me for sure..they aren't even worth it to spend time discussing their biases and prejudices..fact remains..both sri and shashi.will remain alive in our minds..

LOVED her in that movie so much I bought the film! She broke my heart and made me laugh, that is how great of an actress she was. She will really be missed!

It was an incredible film and Sridevi was so effortlessly awesome in it. I loved her interactions with her son and the coffee shop scene made me so angry and sad for shashi! Then when she ordered later on in cheered for her
