Provided both were doing it as per prescribed laws.

they did not shout pakistan murdabad. That was a tiranga yatra and muslims found bharat mata.ki.jai offensive. End of the story.
And yeah i had first hand experience of muslims being sympathetic to an extent of not attending indian independence day celebrations, celebrating pakistan victory in cricket matches, saying they hate.india in the.place i.did my 11th and12th grade.

What about Firstpost? Dont believe Republic. They are a joke.

The trouble started on 26 January, when a Tiranga Yatra, a motorcycle rally taken out by Hindu youth to celebrate Republic Day, ran into a flag hoisting ceremony in a Muslim-populated area. Reportedly, hateful jibes were exchanged. The altercation spiralled into a clash and some people pelted stones at the motorcycle rally. Firing also ensued, in which a Hindu youth lost his life. This became the tipping point and violence gripped the nondescript town for a couple of days.

Not NDTV, almost all the channels I watch came up with the story how guys with Indian flags and bhagwa flags went into the area and shouted slogans including katwe jao pakistan' and Hindu hindu hindustan' . Conveniently they don't mention tha and say muslims got offended by bharat mata ki jai and pakistan murdabad slogans.
Ps. I don't watch replublic and timesnow so have no idea what they showed
Even AAJ Tak started off blaming muslims in the begining but after their correspondent reached the spot he was giving the real version

I agree...this is what I told my father too when we were arguing over this issue...I just wish SLB had the courage to say all of this when the movie was not a hit...I don't know if intolerance is on the rise under this govt as I have only tried becoming aware since the last 2-3 years...but in my life this is the first time I have been unable to watch a movie I really wanted to and I have to say I really don't like this censorship.

Talking about the other issue now- why this dismissal of chandan gupta's death and the reason behind it as some whatsapp story? If we are willing to talk about the intolerance of one group then we should talk about the intolerance of other group too...regardless of their religion.

Well for starters they got the place of the incidents wrong. It happened in UP and not Kashmir. This even the governments in Center and States agree to. Thats why its important to use a little bit of common sense while consuming information from social media and WA.

Sadly not true... Maybe not Karni Sena protest, bcz it doesn't exist outside India 😛

But director being stabbed to death for a movie, people killed, places burned for cartoons happened recently in the western world

People are so scared they don't even attempt nowadays and if anybody tries they get so bullied by the scared people even before the religious zealots attack them

Did Government endorse all those stabbings and killing and burning ??

Here by keeping mum n banning the movie, the state government endorsed the fringe group's behavior. Also showed that its scared of these people. What precedence does it set for other more violent groups for future ??

If you forgot, that was the last resort... who knows who advised him to do it... but the fact that he didnt do it till late, shows that in his mind he had the same attitude before release too 😛
