Just one correction regarding Vajpayee's Raj dharma comment. He actually said Modi was following Raj dharm
which was conveniently twisted by media.

Thanks for the medialink and also for the video. All these days I had presumed, he had said it verbally. Now I saw his beautiful play with words (even pauses are so effective).

True. He did not say, Modi is not following Raj Dharma. But then, why did he advice Modi then? (Question was asked, what advice he would give Modi). When he was speaking, Modi's body language clearly shows, how he was uncomfortable. He finally interrupts, "I am doing the same".
Vajpayee makes no eye contact with him. He faces others and say, " I trust, Narendra Bhai is doing it".

I think, he meant what I said. But the way he had worded was much more beautiful and dignified.

I don't understand your post either

I was trying to answer the questions posted in your previous post

You asked

"Did Government endorse all those stabbings and killing and burning ??

Here by keeping mum n banning the movie, the state government endorsed the fringe group's behavior. Also showed that its scared of these people. What precedence does it set for other more violent groups for future ??"

I was saying after the violence the Dutch Gov caved and Deported the person who made the movie (after the director was violently killed)
So yes those governments did endorse them in a way

You said what precedence is Indian Gov is setting?

I was saying this kind precedence was set long before and it has happened again and again (not saying it's right)

@blue: but i never said this was the first incidence... though it has happened time n again, the government has to start somewhere to put their foot down. I am not blaming just BJP, all parties are the same from my pov. But till when will this go on... every other day some fringe groups get hurt due to some petty issues in the some movie.

About the Dutch gov, though its sad, but they caved in after the violence. You can say they sided with the violent side, but i can say that they tried to save the movie maker after the director was killed. Still We cannot compare that to This situation where members from the ruling party themselves were openly threatening SLB n DP.

Okay we agree on that, good

but some posts here talk like this is totally unprecedented in India and the word

Bold - What are you saying? They kicked her out of the country to save her life?

What if Indian Gov kicked SLB or anybody writing against Karni Sena out of the country and revoked their citizenship, after they get death threats? I am sure nobody here would say they're doing it to save their life

(And unlike Karni Sena, Islamic terrorists are everywhere, all over the word, her life is in danger wherever she goes)

And I was not at making direct comparison at all in my first post, I was not even answering you or any other member here

I was answering SLB's statement that 'Artists being threatened doesn't happen anywhere in the world'

The sad truth is caving to religious fanatics is happening all over the word even in Western countries where they don't have to worry about (Islamic) vote bank

Yes it is allowed in Hinduism

Most Hindu kings and aristocrats had multiple wives but dont think it was common among common people, it was frowned upon

But in India they outlawed polygamy (Muslims were exempted) in 1956... So now it's illegal

btw women were not allowed to remarry if the husband died, in some cases they were not even allowed to live and when they lived it was a terrible existence
