On a side note, Indian men do famously have a problem with genital grooming. Indian men are uncircumcised and since Indians don't talk about genitals, Indian men are not taught that they need to pull back the foreskin and clean under it. Which is why Indian men tend to have schmegma. Most people accept it as norm unless they are medical professionals or have been with circumcised men as well.

The curry scent is actually not a BO issue but a ventilation/clothing issue.

In India since everyone is cooking with the same spices all over, we are used to the scent. Once we leave India the scent of Indian cooking stands out. After all white people don't season their food. 😆

It is not always unpleasant. Fresh Indian spices actually have a very nice scent.

It gets a bit stinky when it starts getting rancid with the oils and moisture in the air. Which is why you have to always use your stove vents and even open the windows to circulate air when cooking. An Indian kitchen in India is always well vented.

Fabrics especially wool absorb a lot of these odors, so you have to store them carefully - away from the kitchen and use mothballs if necessary. Even back home, Indians have mothballs everywhere.

If you live in climate where it snows - your winter boots and coats absorb the most food scent. That is why in spring/summer - you should air them out before putting in storage. Smokers reek the most in winter due to this absorbent quality.
