Every other race has bought into this and only likes people who resemble Caucasians the most. So Indians go crazy over light skin, light eyes, tall height, and sharper features. There is nothing saying that only these features are attractive but we have been conditioned to believe it.

Even Asians are going for eye lid surgeries, coloring their hair lighter, wearing colored contract lenses when they look perfectly nice the way they are.

Indians also have the problem of not being groomed well which makes a huge difference but that's a function of being a poor country. People would rather spend on necessities and not on expensive clothes and facials and haircuts and manicures every 2 weeks.
