Is Priyanka's stardom/brand-value in India decreasing?

While she is making waves in the West

in all the recent surveys/rankings (India) her position is not as strong as it used to be

whether that is Ormax list of top actresses where she is fluctuating way more between no.4 to no.7 s compared to her earlier stable rank of no.3

or the recent brand value list where she drops from a no 5 last year to no.12 this year

are these signs of her stardom being affected in India?

technically going international should only boost popularity in India since Hollywood is far bigger an industry but at times it works just the opposite way

Indians don't really care about HW unless it's some big superhero movie or something and even then they don't really care about HW stars. Who watched Quantico and Baywatch in India? Hardly anyone. Nobody cared about Deepika's xXx either the same way nobody cared about Aish's Pink Panther back in the day.

Even people like Maliaka Arora are always in the news or pap pics but that's not the same thing.

She is at the age when actresses start losing popularity and audience base anyway. It happens to everyone.

Pc time in India is off since 2011 or 2010. She is making money thnx to.hollywood though which is gud but as an lead actress her career is dead since long.

she is still doing brilliantly well

the only actress from 2003 along with katrina to STILL be this much in the game. Majority who debuted around the same time or even after faded away long long back

but i agree about HW

i doubt many even watched Baywatch in India..it hardly collected anything at all. XXX still did some respectable number of 30cr

Don't you think you're making a really big deal about Priyanka being #7 once on Ormax (otherwise she's been 3 or 4 all year) or being 12th in the brand thing? Priyanka hasn't been in India all year to shoot for any of her brands, nor did she sign up more. Aamir doesn't do ads, he's not on the list. Katrina isn't on the list. Priyanka is still on every list without even focusing on India at all.

Also, why didn't you mention she makes way more money now than she ever did before?

Honestly it's really annoying how people try to write off actresses. Let her do her thing. She has a long way to go in both Hollywood and Bollywood with acting and production.

Unfortunately yes. I do think her brand value in India is declining, but that is probably also because she doesn't so as much in India as she used to. Along with not having releases, she also doesn't attend the same parties, isnt seen in the same circles, events etc which is all contributing to it. DP who hasn't had a release in 2 years, still is very much present with all her ads, going to the major events, being pictured, PR articles and then the PD issues. If PC attempted to attend more events here, try to do at least 1 film/year etc, it would probably help keep her more relevant here. But I don't think she necessarily minds it and is focusing most of her energy on HW.

I do wish she put a little more effort into BW, because as a fan while I am proud of all she is doing, I still miss her in BW movies :(

Also, I don't think going to HW makes much of a diff to Indians. It is a matter of pride when it happens for sure, but afterwards, they stop caring. I know so many people who are proud of PC going to HW and are now her "fans", but that is only related to her crossing boundaries, but they do not watch her HW stuff.

I personally grew up in America and I much rather prefer PC in BW

I said she is making waves in the west..that is how i started it...of course she is making way more money now. Did I even discredit her? i also said she is still doing brilliantly well

Geez..why get so worked up. I have directed this Q in response to India

not her making more money overall..that of course she is and doing so well
