P2: I feel that's her conscious decision because otherwise she has her fingers in so many well-baked pies! Her PH churns out a lot of critical & commercial hits like Ventilator, her Assamese film etc & Idk why people keep saying "out of mind" because she is always on telly! Lol! Through her Pantene ads & she was anointed the Assam state ambassador & her ads keep playing too. She somehow does manage to make her presence felt strongly in India even though she doesn't live here-- But that's just my opinion & I might be biased since I love PC.

4. She was listed in LinkedIn Power Profile List of 2017.
5. She charged 12 crore for her performance in IIFA
6. She charged 5 crore for her 5 mins dance performance in Zee Cine Awards.
7. In 2012 she used to charge 0.65-0.75 cr per day as endorsement fees, now she charges 1.5 cr per day.
8. She was voted the most Sexiest Asian Women of 2017.

Yes the number of brands she endorses are relatively less but does the number really defines brand value/stardom? Ranveer Singh is ranked 5 and Salman is ranked 6. Does that means Ranveer Singh enjoys better stardom than Salman?

Both Ranveer and PC are smartly spun PR stories. They have no real value at ground level. Ranveer's fans can similarly list a long set of such media achievements. But ask him or her to put bum on the seats we will get a Befikre or Gangajal.
On topic: PC's brand value started decreasing in 2012. After that she followed the same strategy as Ash ie went West and made it seem in India that she is a huge star there. We as an audience and media here lapped it up. Who doesnt like such fairy tales? But there is only such much your PR can do to keep you propped up.
But having said all this I think PC is doing what is best for her career in terms of longevity. She can sell herself as the exotic brown girl in HW for a while provided she gets noticed. In HW you need to work your way up from extra roles which she is doing now. Maybe in another five odd years she will be a noted stars there if she keeps at it. But even success in the West wont really keep her a superstar here. She will have to work in India for that. But she can remain a star for few more years with regular endorsements, magazine covers and dancing here and there.

Every discussion seems to be incomplete without Deepika. Deepika PR is omnipresent. 😆
Real Stardom.

Yes, her rank and status in brand positioning has taken a beating in India. For, she has less time to involve herself with brand endorsements owing to her international commitments and that could be the reason she is endorsing less brands in India.

She has consciously shifted her complete focus towards West. She is making a steady climb w.r.t her work on tv, music, films, ads. She is currently treading where not many indian actors have gone before. She is in the midst of a makeover addressing a totally different market.

In b/w every actress is an entity to be replaced at one stage. They will be edged out by the new stars on the block. It's difficult for PC to make a strong comeback here and manage two very diverse industries and audiences.

It's reinvention and a huge step forward for PC from mainstream b/w to american tv. But quantico and other things can do little for PC in India and a lot more in US. But she needs more time to build her brand using all these opportunities there.

yes...
not just her even all others who are past 30-32 are dying their
natural death..
i feel actors shelf life is longer as girls are mostly loyally dedicated
to them if they once take a strong liking ..besides girls dnt base their
liking on the facial value bt mostly on the inner contents in a man be it
his charms character intelligence or other such worthy virtues..
whereas boys see the physical beauty in an actress n esteems her as long as
that physical beauty is intact..the min it starts showing decay due to ageing
boys feel the "loss of charm" n being the fickle minded spoiled for choice
they easily migrate to another younger "fresh beauty" n so nt just India any where
in the world this natural syndrome can be observed n so men never grows old bt
women gets tagged "old hag " past their primes..

Yes. Though her brand value has notably diminished in India her popularity and reach remain intact because of the rise in her value as a global brand. No indian actor has successfully managed to enter into mainstream american market the way PC has done.

The aforementioned records are proof of her exceptional achievements. You didn't mention her win of people's choice awards 2016 for her tv series which is a remarkable feat in her US tv career. Also she has been goodwill ambassador for unicef for a long period, an honorary role that brought her recognition worldwide.

But the price quotes you have mentioned are nothing but PR gimmicks. Yes, they do quote huge sum for award ceremony performances, but PR articles make it astronomical. Their endorsement fees always depend on their current market value. Also lists like 'sexiest asian' from unauthorised sources are farce and don't hold any value.

She has already peaked in b/w. Straddling two very different sets of industries and audience has its own challenges. So naturally if she wants to focus on H/W she will have to take a back seat here which in turn decreases her marketability.
