As Franco has already pointed out Life in a Metro and Rang de Basanti were in different years. The only "major " award I can find for any Soha Ali Khan performance was IIFA for Rang when Kangana wasn't nominated for any movie let alone a movie not in competition. Most supporting actress awards that year (when Soha won) went to Konkona Sen Sharma for Omkara. Incidentally Konkona won back to back Filmfare awards for Omkara and the next year for Life in a Metro (Kangana wasn't nominated).

and koko was sheer brilliance in omkara who.also won the national award

so don't how what she is saying..when koko fair and square won for omkara over soha..and like said..Metro and Rang de were not even released in same year

They don't decide at the last minute to change the person they're giving it to because someone didn't show up. And it's not like Supriya Patak Or Soha are some big stars that can steal an award from Kangana.

Btw, it's not just Kangana. A lot of BW stars behave like this where if they don't get an award, it's rigged and unfair and must be pulled down. Such crab mentality. National Awards have been a total joke as well but that's okay according to her since she got them.

This Rang de and Metro timeline don't match..she should have prepared her lies in advance like she did in Aap ki adalat

As the awards season gets going and the clamour to accumulate glamour under one televised roof gets frantic, goof-ups are bound to happen.

Kaun'troversial award: Kangana Ranaut

At the Sabse Favourite Kaun awards ceremony on Sunday evening at Taj Land's End, the award for the Nayi Heroine was given the shuffle at the last minute.

Kangana Ranaut, who was told she was selected for the honour, is both humoured and horrified, after the award was presented to Soha Ali Khan.

Kangana says, "I was clearly told I was getting the award for Sabsey Favourite Nayi Heroine. I got delayed in the traffic. When I reached the venue I heard Shah Rukh's name being announced. Obviously, my category had already passed. I was told to stay on by the organizers and that my trophy would be sent home to me. I sat through the rest of the function without knowing that my award had been given to someone else. I didn't even know Soha got the award until a friend phoned to say so. It's rather sad and funny."

Organised by Star Plus, Sabse Favourite Kaun is a poll-based popularity contest. The other winners this year include Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Priyanka Chopra. The show was produced by Samar Khan for Rose Movies (Goldie Behl's company)

Despite repeated attempts to contact Samar Khan, he was unavailable for comment.

A miffed Kangana, however, refuses to take the matter seriously. "It's okay. I like Soha a lot. They probably needed a presence on stage. It doesn't look nice to give the award to an absentee winner. I'm sure I'll have many other opportunities."

As for Soha Ali Khan, just how she qualifies as a new face after being in the industry for two years, is a question only the awards committee can answer.

T4S... I recall it too. She just erred on naming Metro. The point still remains though. 😉

So that was for Gangster right? Now the timelines match. Both Gangster and RDB were out in 2006.
