Rape in films makes me uncomfortable, I am hoping they avoid it and change that part of the story.

They won't show any rape, it's just the case involved a girl getting kidnapped and raped by a group of men, and I'm sure Rohit will make it a movie that can be viewed by the family audience like all his other films

Ranveer Singh's character in Simmba is totally opposite to Ajay Devgn's in Singham, says Rohit Shetty

After Singham, Rohit Shetty is all set to bring another cop drama in Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh, but the director says both the storylines are completely different.

"Creating a similar cop character would have been tough. This character is totally opposite of Bajirao Singham, he is notorious, flamboyant and the energy is totally different," Rohit told PTI.

Shetty, who first worked with Ranveer for an advertisement, says the actor is "a superstar".

Rohit is also full of praise for the leading lady of his upcoming film Simmba, Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, saying she doesn't want to restrict herself to just one genre or one kind of a film.

"She is happy to be a part of this. In fact, Sara wants to be part of the action film. I am happy to know that she wants to do all kind of cinema and doesn't want to get stuck to a film or genre.

"She wants to do solo heroine film, ensemble film, hardcore commercial film, love story, comedy, women-oriented subject... She wants to experience everything. She comes from that schooling and I like that in her."

The Golmaal director says he doesn't feel the pressure of directing a star kid.

"For me, the pressure is that audience should like the film. Other than that, there is no pressure. We felt Sara suits the character so we went with her."

The film, set in Goa, will go on floor next month for a slated release in December, 2018.

Ranveer Singh to start training for Rohit Shetty's Simmba

A couple of weeks ago, Ranveer Singh had suffered a shoulder injury due to which he had to pull out of Indian Premier League's opening ceremony where he was slated to perform. The actor was seen sporting an arm sling after the injury.

However, on Saturday, the actor was informed by his doctors that his shoulder had healed completely. A source says, "Though he has recovered, Ranveer will keep visiting his physio as conditioning of his shoulder continues. He no longer needs to wear the sling.

The Padmaavat actor is now raring to start training for his next film, Rohit Shetty's Simmba. Ranveer plays a cop in it and the director wants him to be in his best shape. "He will be doing everything to bulk up and look his ripped best. Ranveer has his training plan already chalked out for the film. Though it will be gruelling and intense, he can't wait to start, adds the source.

However, since he has just recovered from his injury, the star will start training his lower body for the first few days and mix up upper body exercises to get the shoulder back into the groove. "From May 1, he will start heavy upper body exercises. The physiotherapist has worked non-stop to ensure Ranveer makes a full recovery from his tricky injury and that too before time, the source informs.

The 32-year-old, who recently lost weight and got a lean look for his role as a rapper in Gully Boy, will now undergo another transformation for his cop act. We have learnt that shooting for Simmba will begin on June 7 in Hyderabad.

so ranveer will be doing 1 month of prep for the film, thats a gud amount of time, and rohits films dont take too long to make

its not a delay, ranveer needs to prep for Simmbaa, he didn't work out during gullyboy as the character needs a slim body, but for simmba rohit wants the character to have a muscular body, and to do that it takes time, so its not a break, its prep time for the film, he also needs to rehearse the script and prep for the action sequnces and choreography
