though a major chunk of population uses public transport u can still find equal number of.personal vehicles on roads. Adding to it is the residual crop burn from haryana punjab a gift from green revolution. Unless government bans this crop burning delhi will suffer.

Also people should stop migrating to cities like delhi , mumbai , chennai. These 3 are worst hit due to over population

Dellhi's part is 20%. 80% blame goes to Haryana and Punjab. The governments there refused to do anything. Why only Delhi, situation in Haryana which was supposed to be so green is far worse.

This time due to ban, crackers problem was less than last year but smog problem this year is worse. Governmwnt shud help farmers to manage farm waste otherwise there is no solution.

25 cars collided in Lahore, Pakistan yesterday and three people died on spot due to zero visibility. Lahore and Delhi both are affected by smog. I am sorry but I can't blame the crackers here. We do not celebrate Diwali in Lahore at such grand scale still our lives are turned into hell. Its inefficiency of administration and governance!

Celebs are humans too and they have every right to vocalize given the recent news of accident.

Maybe they didn't know the gravity of the issue until the accident.

Sad what's happening in Delhi ! Some of the pictures of daytime looks scary, all foggy looks like 5:30-6:00 in the morning when actually it's 12-1 PM.

Good that celebs are caring about it. One of the few real problems they actually indulge themselves in !

I live in Delhi and its hell right now

Its difficult to breathe, venture out without your eyes watering or skin burning. Visibility level is zero and people are falling sick everywhere

On topic - Varun, Pari, Arjun were in Delhi shooting and are enduring the same. No one wants to be in position where 'BREATHING PURE AIR' becomes a luxury. Its basic human necessity - its NOTHING POLITICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL OR SOCIAL!! Its about survival

It has been three weeks since Diwali

You can't blame crackers when there are bigger issues and reasons in hand

Smog is largely due to field crops being burned in Punjab, Haryana and wind direction coming from there.

There has to be an immediate alternative by central government. To compensate the burning that is a need for the farmers

One of the doctors recently told me that people will only realise how dangerous things are when u cut open their lungs and show it to them. Nobody ever states the cause of death of a patient due to pollution like u would do for dengue and cancer. But people are dying cus of lung diseases every minute now and yet no sense of emergency among the people. People's lives don't matter in this country.
