Anushka Shetty's Bhaagamathie To Clash With Anushka Sharma's Pari?

The first look poster of Bhaagamathie starring Anushka Shetty released on November 6, a day before Sweety's birthday. While the look received rave reviews and was one that would leave anyone impressed and intrigued, it also had some disappointment in-store for fans. The film, initially called Bhagmathi, got a new name Bhaagamathie but not a release date.

The period thriller has already been postponed twice this year and locked for early 2018. But a release date is still unknown. There have been speculations that it will release during the Sankranthi/Pongal holidays in January but the no information about the release date has fans restless.

Amid all the speculations, we have heard from our well placed source that Bhaagamathie might release in February instead. Talking exclusively to India.com, the source close to the film revealed, "Team Bhaagamathie had a Pongal release date in mind, however, there are at least 5 films already locked for that period. Also, the makers thought that a period thriller may not go with the mood of the festivities and therefore is mulling over postponing the film.

The source also shared that the film is Anushka's much awaited film, especially after the success of Baahubali. Fans have been waiting to see her on the big screen again and therefore Bhaagamathie might now release early February.

Interestingly, Anushka Sharma's psychological thriller Pari is also slated for a February release. It has been finalised for 9th February. It remains to be seen if Anushka Shetty's Bhaagamathie too goes in for the same date, clashing with Pari. If that happens, it will be one box office clash of its kind with two Anushkas, in two thrillers, showcasing their never seen before avatars, locking horns at the box office.

As per buzz, Bhaagamathie will get a theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam as well as Hindi. Even if the other versions release on 2nd February, the first Friday of the month, as per the current trend, the Hindi dubbed verison might release a week later, falling on Feb 9th. Interesting times ahead. Isn't it?
