Tbh, he isn't that bad in Ittefaq. It's clear that playing brooding, stubborn guy is something he can make work. But beyond that, I see nothing.

As someone else pointed out, the bottom line for me is he is bland. He doesn't have any effect and that's why he is overlooked a lot of the times and that's his own fault - not the story or direction etc. Even though he's had 4 releases this past 2 years, in contrast to Varun, Arjun's 3 films and Ranbir, Ranveer's 2 films, he hasn't made the same impact that they have.

I don't see him following a different path either. His relationships are used as a tool for his PR. He's had hit songs - Kala Chashma being the biggest any male newcomer has had. He's been working with big banners and popular actresses so he's mostly shared the burden of the film except maybe for A Gentleman and we saw how that turned out.

Maybe Aiyaary and the biopic might change things for him but I suppose that can be said for any of the new guys' lineups. Regardless, he's not going anywhere so don't think his fans need to worry about that.

I watched the movie and he was nowhere as bad as you are making it out to be!
This is the first movie of his I went to watch and compared to the big deal that's made on this forum on "how bad an actor he is' he was more than fine when I saw it for myself. Smh

I think he does well enough when's paired against decent actors. He plays off their strengths plus he's eye candy! The male audience gets more than their fair share, let us have Sid!

Yes Dharma gives him movies...but they dont give him "the best ones"...The best are always "created" and given to Alia and Varun...Sid gets the leftovers...Brothers and Baar Baar Dekho can hardly match up to Badri, Humpty or some of the other movies that have been manufactured.

The only good Dharma films Sid got were HTP and Kapoor and Sons.
