Could this internally be linked to her being fired from the show by star plus? it often happes that when one complains to employer about someone in powerful position then they end up leaving their job ...not saying this is the case but all the complaining to employerr discussion gave me the idea .

I don't know who Mallika Dua is, but what she wrote just said it all. Good on her. Akshay needs to apologise. And she's right, the problem is bigger than Akshay, something needs to be done about this work-life culture where a colleague/higher makes one uncomfortable but one feels they can't do anything but grin and bear it. Crass, sexual or sexist comments/jokes that make someone uncomfortable need to stop.

Akshay should not joke around with people he does not have a camaraderie with. No one should especially when you are in the public eye. This is what inevitably happens.
Having said that, why does everything have to have a sexual connotation attached to it, nowadays? It's like a man and woman cannot even take jibes at each other without making it a sexual harassment issue. I never even knew "bajata hoon" meant anything remotely sexual. I thought it meant to yank someone's chain or more seriously, to take someone to task, like the title of that movie, "Bajatey raho". I believe Akshay meant it in the same context. Either way, he should apologize, when you hurt someone's sentiments for no rhyme or reason, you apologize and that is what Akshay should do.

Band bajata hu is used commonly in every Bollywood movie. It does not necessarily mean banging. Depends on your mentality how you interpret a word that has more than 1 meaning. She should have quit the show right then if she felt it was wrong. She chose to continue and now that she is fired she brings it up. What about all the sexual shit AIB, Mallika and others spew in the name of comedy?

CONSENT! CONSENT!! CONSENT!!!!

That's the difference. Just because a woman laughs at a sexual joke or is bold about her sexuality does not mean she is OK with folks passing a sexual comment on her. She agreed to the former and the latter was harassment in this case done in her work place. What is so tough to understand??? This akin to saying a prostitute cannot be raped

Was the AIB roast that bad?

Did they make fun of female celebrities, did crude jokes about them without their consent?

Yes AIB did make crude jokes about certain celebs without their permission but what does AIB have to do with this issue? Mallika acts in AIB sketches but she does not belong to AIB. This is classic what aboutery.

No it's not Malaika's fault

Was not accusing her

My question was about and only about the behavior of AIB roast

I honestly feel such banter is okay among two people of the opposite sex if they share a high comfort level with one another. For example, in the show friends, Joey cracks several sex jokes towards Rachel, Monica and Phoebe, but that's different. This is just tasteless and inappropriate and can't be defended in the name of humor.

+ 1 .. You have to have that sort of personal comfort level to crack such jokes .. Even so , regardless of personal equation , it is always better & should be/is mandatory to keep such jokes out of work place environment ..

OT : Very well put .. Couldn't agree more .. Though she isn't exactly "accusing" Akshay , wonder what his motormouth wife has to say about it .. Motormouth needs to stop crawling among the earthworms first & then perhaps she ll get a chance to look at her own home .. 😆
