Are we forgetting all the colors version of Comedy Circus like Dangal and what not (Comedy Nights, Comedy Circus Dangal) where guests were invited, degraded, actresses were heavily sexualised and insulted in the name of comedy by fellow actresses who were the hosts. And it even had cases like Kavita Kaushik if I'm getting her name right storming off mid recording coz she was appalled by the humor on the show. The actors like Anita Hassanadani of YHM fame and all defended the show calling it an insult comedy. Assuming that I have the situation right? Was that okay? When so many actors and actresses were roasted, insulted and sexualised without their consent, prior knowledge and despite their discomfort? Why is no one not discussing that?

Don't about tv shows but when AIB circus happened people asking apology from akshay kumar and his fans jumped to save freedom of expression against feminism then🤣

The thing is, if someone objects to something they find uncomfortable, they have a right to state so.. In every comedy show, when a joke offended someone, they let their displeasure be known and the makers had to apologize.. hell that colors comedy show tou used to apologize every freaking week.. Malika found the joke uncomfortable and stated and since I m sure Akshay's intention was not malicious, he can easily apologize and it will all be forgotten..

giving examples of mallika cracking sexual jokes is a baseless argument imo
how does that justify something like this from akshay which has such obvious double meaning

it is quite the same as assuming a po*n star would be okay in having sex with you anytime..anywhere..just coz she has indulged in po*n..

just coz she does shows which have these jokes does not make this act from akshay justified in any which way

it is about time harrassment is taken as harrassment without questioning the victim on her profession..dress..the jokes she cracks etc

The difference here then the other roasts/comedy shows mentioned. Even if they are tasteless, full of misogyny shit, they are still scripted shows and performers work on them as part of their employment. While here Aki made an off-handed remark which wasn't scripted and hence sits more as a wrong. Because it means the position Aki has gives him enough space and privilege to spew any crass joke and world is expecting a woman to move on with it especially in a work environment. Or laugh at it because she has presented adult comedy as her work.
Nope doesn't give anyone such liberties . It comes under work harassment and has more to do with our social conditioning where we expect women to be one of the "boys". There is always a power equation just because a woman doesn't say anything or bears it doesn't mean she enjoys or approves of it.

Aki , might have done it unintentionally but should apologize as they both were co-workers.

FOE gives one freedom to say anything, true, but it doesn't mean your speech, actions are above law or decorum.

JUst two points.
1. you are defending AIB for rape jokes, and sexually explicit jokes on two elderly women without their consent.
2. If you believe akshay kumar might have done it unintentionally, then the whole open letter and her dad abusing and threatening akshay and you people shaming akshay kumar publicly is OTT reaction.
She could've told him in private and he might have apologized.

yeh mei offend ho gayee loot gayee bar ad hoc gayee drama kyu?

Pray tell where I defended them? I said thats the format of roasts, if anyone is offended our constitution gives them the right to file a defamation case. Or even express the same. I fail to see your argument about linking a scripted show which comes with its saturated warnings with a off-the script work remark. The jokes made were part of a program, if they were offensive then there is enough provision for the same.

It is your perogative how you want to handle such crisis...she could have filed a complaint under the Vishakha guidelines. Also it is your opinion that her reaction is OTT while what she felt then inspite of being a judge in that show and getting a sexist remark like that pretty much makes her a victim here and hence she is allowed to react however she wants.
Her dad wrote a post on his sns accounts which again he is entitled too.
Why should the onus be on her to tell a grown man like Akki about this..who considering the power equation might not take it kindly..I am sure this is the reason why lot many female workers hesitate to take actions against their co-workers, bosses.
She is speaking now because she is free from their work-association and the issue is in media.

yeh mei offend ho gayee loot gayee bar ad hoc gayee drama kyu?
Because we still will find faults in her reaction rather than chiding or reminding Aki type superstars that it's not cool to take liberties even of speech in the lieu of their power.

Also do read up on FOE and how it's accountable in Indian constitution. Lot of confusion would be sorted out ..

Had it been SRK or Ranbir in place of Akshay you would be shitting here defending like you did earlier so let it just be. I am not of Nadaan age 12.

Mallika Dua wasn't part of the roast - she holds NO BLAME THERE
AIB apologised & moved on. her videos with them have no sexual harassment

Akki did Kambakkat Ishq which isn't he held accountable for that? That disgusting forced kiss scene

Then she should have bring it up to akshay and try to get apology instead of directly going to public.
