He just wished away such characters I think. 😆 Padma stalked Baaji all the way to his palace & across princely states & that is supposed to be a 'great love story'! What injustice because their love was good, was real. The first time a Marathi Peshwa broke all tradition & took on a second wife, that too a beautiful, very talented half-Hindu royalty, half -Persian Muslim concubine offspring.. And then made her DANCE in front of a stranger!!!! Oh my Lord. How she would've spun in her grave. That's absolutely unthinkable. They would rather kill themself than dance. Dance was seen as an extremely lowly form of entertainment, best suited to courtesans. Not beautiful upper-class women. 🥱

I would never forgive Ashutosh for turning Akbar and Jodha into eternal lovers because Ekta took up that concept and exaggerated it so much that now many people believe Jodha was true love of his life and mother of all his children😆

The only thing that can be established as a fact is that Akbar married a Rajput princess who was Salim's mother. That is it .Love wasn't even Akabr concern .He was a king had many more important matters to deal with.

Oh no no.. As per Ekta, his one job was to go after Jodha😆 Everything he did was for Jodha.. Heck they even showed Akbar held captive by some people and rescued by Jodha.. Boy would the real Akrab be turning in his hrave😆

Sabhyata: Even that is under big dispute. Lol. No-one knees for sure if even his mother was a Hindu lady. The only thing we do know as facts, are that if there was love of Akbar's life, it was Ruqaiyya. even Salima but more Ruqaiyya. Jodha is now said to be a Portugese lady who Akbar fell in love with & married, there are too many theories around this legend. We also do know as a fact that Shah Jahan's mother was a Hindu princess. That's it. We really don't know anything about "Jodha."

Rasgulla: God don't remind me. The Emperor who fought a wild boar bare-handed was going to need rescuing by an incredibly self-righteous ornamental sour-face. SMH!!

Lol I never knew the thread was going to take this turn 😆

As far as culture is concerned we are influenced by various cultures and have indeed benefitted from them. I am not saying Mughals were great people.

But historical places be it Portuguese influence in Daman Diu Goa or Mughal architect in Northern region or British influence in Victoria terminus, Kolkata has so many brits places. The food we eat from Mughlai to chips and beans.
So point being bad and cruel rulers but India is diverse with amalgamation of all cultures.

I mean hats off if people don't visit Taj Mahal or Agra Delhi Fort or eat Mughlai because well its all Mughal influence.

I just do not like SLB & his films, hated Devda's (only Madhuri was the saving grace of the film) & Black full of melodrama & OTT acting from cast.

I just gave my opinion on his take nothing more, to bad people like to jump on you for opinion stated.

Akbar marrying a Rajput princess (whatever her name was) is mentioned in many sources so that i can believe. Also one of her nephews was even part of Akbar's court and Jahangir married another Rajput princess as well.So that much i can believe. But ya that she was the love of his life and his entire life revolved around her is a big joke. Her importance was limited to only being mother of the King to be (Jahangir ) that is it .

No matter how much we want romanticise things the truth is that most Kings had many wives and concubines true love was never their concern. But our TV serials and movies turn them into lover boys Salim's only love was Anarkali. Akabr only loved Jodhaa,Baji rao was also only a lover,Maharana Pratap only loved his one wife and recently Chandra Gupta Maurya also had a great true one love😆 its just getting too much

Little bit fiction is fine but ignoring their greater historical accomplishments and turning them into lover boys is too much.

^^He married many Hindu princesses, Akbar was the first Mughal to introduce Marriage Alliances to consolidate power in Rajputana via these marriages, yes. But we don't know if there was a Hindu process called Jodha, because Jodh Bai was another name for Mann Bai, Salim (future Jehangir) first wife who committed suicide seeing the intense hatred her son had for his father & all the ways he tried to usurp his throne. I wouldn't be so sure about this because there is enough confusion around this too, to consider it a fact. Pls don't demote them. they weren't mere kings. They were full Emperors. 😆 😆

Sabhyata: Ya it's so reductive to paint them out to lovesick fools worth nothing else to their names!! And the mockery that EK reduced Akbar to, was too much for me to bear!!! Even more so because I hated how Jodha was characterised. If she existed, I am sure she would've been nothing like this!! My favourite historical figure apart from Akbar, was Noorjehan. What an absolutely magnificent lady!!! Imagine if they would've fallen in love with each other--- The Universe would've destroyed itself 100 times over. 😆 😆

Nur Jehan? The married lady Jehangir took a liking to? His 18th wife? Imagine if BW or Ekta decides to take on their love story😆
Her first husband would become a barbarian who tortured her whole Jehangir would be the ultimate hero who cared and loved her like no one else😆
In between we could have had a male version of Pinga between Jehangir and her husband
