SLB is very good with costumes. He would have got it right had he wanted to.

But in this film he is faced with a problem..of showing the minority community in bad light. There is no good muslim to balance things out.

So he has depicted Khiji as a foreign invader-He wants to drive home the point-that Khilji was not "Indian"

That the war is not between two Indians.

Mughals were no way influential people to be remembered, mostly all were intolerant, prime examples being shahjahan and aurangzeb and about culture, this is the known fact that they tried to impose their religion and culture on the common people. Hindus had to pay jazia tax in tgeir own country to visit pilgrimage centers. Thousands of temples were destroyed, Many were forcefully converted, many women were abducted and what not?? They did not peacefully among themselves too, plotted Among themselves, against their family members, killed their own fathers and brothers, practised incest etc. etc. Yup they indeed very influential 😆
The only one worth remembering is Akbar, even though he had grey shades too, but thankfully he was tolerant which made him the Great! And wasn't akbar too a villain in one of the most famous love stories of baaz bahadur and roopmati, he too was lusting over roopmati and attacjed her kingdom? I don't remeber the story correctly.

So the Hindhu Kings were very good and Muslim Kings were bad, per some. Get very difficult to have any sane discussions which such who have one dimensional thinking and even if certain facts were stated they would not believe because their minds are set.

Most HW or BW films are propaganda based and especially Sub Continent history is not straight but pretty complex.

Tax during Mughals or any other Sultanate period was not only levied on Hindus but Shia Muslims as well.

No wonder the British succeeded into dividing this country because they found our weakness and exploited it. The division is so strong that it lasted centuries.

Hindu kings were Indian and Muslims were invaders. They forced some alien religion on us . Mohammed was born in Arab and has nothing to do with this land .
You blaming only Britishers for the partition is funny .Again because of these Islamists invaders and psedu secularists indians we lost our own land to Islam .

Hindu kings didn't invade Muslim lands and tried to impose their culture, religion and values on them, it were the Muslims that invaded India, not the other way round. The difference between pre-Islamic invaders and Islamic invaders is that the former became subsumed into the Indian cultural fabric, they became Indians, they adopted the religions, culture, traditions, names, and heritage of the land, whilst the latter tried to uproot the religions and cultures of India and supplanting it with their one.

Do Muslims love America or Russia being in their lands? no? well you got your answer. Shia Muslims are minorities in Sunni majority lands and often face persecution and discrimination.
