its not about rajasthan... its about all hindu people... maharani sa is one of the biggest epitome...

no distortions will be tolerated by anyone if you are right then no problem in showing the film to them...

even 'Zubeda' film (Karishma Rekha Manoj vajpeyi) was made on Jodhpur's King hanuwant singh ji... but no controversy happened like this because the story was wriiten from her diary only by her son...

Why is it so hard for you to understand that Indian movies are musicals. They use dance and music for storytelling. It's not about if the kings and queens danced or not. You really need to look up Broadway dramas and stage plays.

They are making a movie not a f**king documentary!

using music and dance is different thing ... and DISTORTING history is different ...

try to use them in different ways ... if you can't ... then don't touch these topics...

but Karni Sena is not opposing that ... they just can't trust bhansali sir seeing his past works in distorting history ... so thats why they should show it to bunch of royal people and get a clean chit ... no need to be afraid if nothing wrong is there...

it'll become harder and harder for him to release film (not only rajasthan but outside too) ... because its a really very sensitiv topic

Like I've said it two thousand other times, this is a DEMOCRACY.

There is something called the Central Board of Film Certification that checks every movie for problematic content. This board is appointed by the government that's elected by the people. CBFC knows about the concerns of the Rajputs and it will take utmost care while certifying this movie. It won't allow the release of Padmavati until and unless it's clear as water.

You, Karni Sena, and all the allies need to understand that the demand for a special screening is a breach of someone else's fundamental rights.

Padmavati the movie is the property of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his partners. The movie is not a public restroom.

Take the route of the courts to voice your concerns. Sign petitions, file cases, and appeal before a bench of judges if you are so insecure.

But threatening the state with violence without a particle of EVIDENCE? You all are digging very deep graves for yourselves. 😆

MY POV on the issue

I think there is nothing wrong in having a song for khilji like Offred mentioned Indian movies are muscials song and dance are very important part of our storytelling. Also SLB has always said his characters will always sing and dance in his films. He is a revered filmmaker and is making a film about the inspiring story of RANI PADMAVATI.

FILM is a medium of his expression and In our country the law of the land gives everyone the right. He is making a story about a certain aspect and it is based on jayasi's poem " Padmavat"

Khilji was a sultan. Song and dance were an important part of the muslim courts. Also we havent seen a song. As per reports he doesnt dance as such just some signature moves. I see nothing wrong in it. He is still showed as the evil, haivaan.

Also about showing the film to Karni sena. what authority do they have. The CBFC is the one to decide they are also aware of the issue maybe take few historians also into the panel . They will watch the film and certify.

Screening it for Karni sena is like bowing down to these fringe groups. Their problem was against an alleged dream sequence between Khilji and Padmavati. The director himself has clarified about that. It was aired on News channels too. There is no such scene in the film.

More groups have joined the protest. Imagine they also ask for a screening. Art should be kept from the purview of all this.

Even educated politicans are trying to bend this issue as a means to increase their vote bank which is saddening to see. The system has to protect its artists especially when the intentions are wrong.

Once the film is out people will see that the film indeed celebrates and glorifies the Rajput pride and honor.
