Judwaa 2 Becomes Varun Dhawan's 4th 100 Crore Grosser, 9th Back To Back Hit

Judwaa 2 with the total collections of 102.33 crores in 8 days is now Varun Dhawan's 4th film in the 100 crore club. The first 3 beingDilwale [148 crores], Badrinath Ki Dulhania[116.60 crores] & ABCD 2 [107 crores].

As we all know Varun Dhawan holds the position of being the only actor who has given 9 back to back hits since his debut. He now also has crossed Ranbir Kapoor in the Power Index list of KoiMoi.

With Judwaa 2 entering the 100 crore club he has gained 100 points to level up his score to400 crossing Ranbir's score of 300. He now holds the 7th position in the star ranking list next to 3 Khans, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan.

With the pace this lad is going, the time is not far too see him in top 5. He definitely is a winning horse in the long race.

"In a year when much-anticipated films are not doing well at the box office, actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Kriti, Bhumi are making differences. So far, Bhumi has acted in three films Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and all of them are hits, Varun said.

Admitting that he is popular on social media, which he enjoys a lot, the Main Tera Hero actor said: "There is a little hypocrisy there. When I meet people at the public events or put out trailer or videos on social media, I get a response from thousands of people. Are they all going to the theatre? Awesome, blockbuster, FULTOO FUN movie. 🥳 Detailed review tomorrow, for now, 10/10 on Varun.

The only one who's missed badly is Karishma.

Varun with his 'Ammijaan kehti hai' has permanently stamped his mark on Indian BW 🤣.

Judwaa 2 Has Good Second Weekend

Judwaa 2 continued with its good box run in the second weekend as it collected over 17 crore nett and took its ten day total to 112.50 crore nett. In the next day or two it will cross the business of Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Tubelight and have just Raees and Toilet Ek Prem Katha in front of it from 2017 outright Hindi releases. .

The second weekend of the film is a little less than Toilet Ek Prem Katha but the first week was a little higher so after ten days Toilet Ek Prem Katha has an edge of around 50 lakhs nett. It will be the third week collections that will decide if Judwaa 2 becomes the highest outright Hindi film grosser of 2017. The collections of Judwaa 2 till date are as follows.

Week One - 95,25,00,000 apprx

Friday - 4,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 5,50,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 7,75,00,000 apprx

Second Weekend - 17,25,00,000

TOTAL - 1,12,50,00,000 apprx

Judwaa 2 v Toilet Ek Prem Katha Comparison

Judwaa 2 and Toilet Ek Prem Katha had very similar first week collections at an all India basis though there were some territory differences. The major differences were Gujarat in favour of Toilet Ek Prem Katha and this is where the difference in Mumbai circuit comes. UP went to Judwaa 2 which meant the Delhi / UP went to Judwaa 2. The Delhi NCR figures in Delhi / UP were practically ditto but UP gave Judwaa 2 the edge.

East Punjab went to Toilet Ek Prem Katha as the Punjab state cities fared better for Toilet Ek Prem Katha than Judwaa 2. Then the major difference was West Bengal and Bihar where the holiday for Durga Puja all across West Bengal and some parts of Bihar pushed Judwaa 2 to very strong numbers in these two circuits. The first week all India figures are similar and lifetime is also set for a a photo finish. Below are the first week territory figures for Judwaa 2 and Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu starrer Judwaa 2 continued to rake in money in the second weekend as well, as this week's releases failed to create a buzz. Saif Ali Khan starrer Chef failed to take off from Day 1, and did not witness any growth over the weekend.

On the other hand, Judwaa 2 dominated and witnessed a considerable boost in collections on Saturday and Sunday. Here's a breakup of total collections of both films.

Bollywood is surely riding high on Varun Dhawan's charm. And the clear example is his latest release Judwaa 2' that has been declared as a superhit by film trade pundits. Judwaa 2, a remake of the 90's hit Judwaa' starring Salman Khan, has kept the ticket counters rolling even in the second week after its release. The film, directed by Varun's father and ace-filmmaker David Dhawan, also stars Jacquline Fernandes and Tapsee Pannu.

Judwaa 2' continued its winning streak on its 10th day, after crossing the 100 Crore mark on Friday. The film has so far earned Rs 116.18 Crore and is expected to make more money in the coming week. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Varun-starrer is a Superhit. As per Taran Adarsh's latest tweet, the box office collection of Judwaa 2' is EXCELLENT'.

At this pace, Varun's latest comedy ride is on its way in becoming the biggest hit of 2017. Judwaa 2 collected Rs 98.08 cr in its first week beating the collections of Akshay Kumar's film Toilet Ek Prem Katha that had collected Rs. 96.05 cr to become the fourth highest opening week grosser of 2017.

Even with the mixed reviews of the critics, Judwaa 2 actor Varun Dhawan must be elated with his 100 percent success rate in Bollywood. After Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Judwaa 2, Varun is surely gen-next's most bankable star.
