I didn't understand ..love interest. Is this reference to anyone? Or just saying all heroines are known for their love interest in heroes?

Director do not recognise her until she says the word love interest. It's very beginning of the video where she goes to director regarding the script lines.

Heroines are just shown as hero's love interest. Like Kareena was just a love interest of Salman in Bajrangi. She had no importance in the film.
