Here is my review, Watched it on Sunday night, Too much hectic schedule, so late review

I personally liked Kangana's performance more than Datto or Rani.It feels so good to see an artist at the top of her craft Fabulous performance.I don't think any actress can pull of Simran the way she did.

I find the direction was good, not extraordinary, maybe because This is not Hansal Mehta's forte

About the movie, The second half is not as good as the first half, But it is highly enjoyable film and nowhere

I felt boring. Yes the stealing sequences, the car chasing sequences looked not so real, But none made it dull or uninteresting

Cinematography is so nice, I felt like it captured the essence of the places so well, I really want to live in Atlanta once, I really liked the way they have captured Vegas

About Screenplay, Yes it is not tight and has loopholes, But as I said, the character of Simran is so engrossing it does not make you feel bored with loopholes, Considering I am a Bollywood films lover, It never really tested my patience or intelligent

Music was good, Nothing great, A chartbuster might have uplifted the film but Songs like Pinjra, Meet will stay with me.I rather liked the BG Score, it was pretty good and added to the film

About Supporting characters, all were good, Especially the person who played her father and mother did a pretty good job

Dialogues are fab but only if you understand, If you don't understand them, you will not enjoy the film

"The grassroots level se aap upar dekh rahe hoon, niche koi nahin dekh raha" That was very nice ,"Bad girls go everywhere wala dialog" the way she said it, the whole hall were laughing.

Now Some of the scenes I would like to mention for watching How brilliant Kangana performed

+ The scene where she first realize the fun of stealing, there is an expression in her face, I can't explain

+ The scene where she breaks down in the petrol pump,

+ The scene where she takes the chair when her father slaps her, the guilt in her eyes and body language

+ The scene where she agrees to go to LV with amber

+ The scene where she raises a toast for LV, midnight in red dress, a glass in her her and tears and smile together in face

+ The scene where she feels bad about the person who gets attack when she tries to attack one bank

+ The whole lake scene and the dialogs are amazing, I had goosebumps

+ The end scene

I would rate this film 3.5

Box office analysis

Apart from lot of negativity around the film by fans of stars and people in Bollywood, The makers did few goofs

Whole film's 60-70% dialogues are in English or Hindi, So they kind of excluded single screen audience

second half becomes illogical to a point, so that way Multiplex audience's appeal also got restricted

This film is a one-woman show and Man!! she does not disappoint in any scenes.

Okay! My honest review (Sorry can't post a full review, too tired to write today) :(

The theme was really fab, but overall as a film it had some loopholes & flaws but still a fine movie!

This was Kangana's best portrayal till date. She surpassed her performance in Queen. The best female performance so far of 2017 :)

3.5/5 (Extra 0.5 only because of Kangana's performance)

IM : Hats off to you, the way you're maintaining your patience, not getting affected even a bit with all the negativity & bashing is going on this forum! 👏

I agree with your selection. Let me add to a few scenes:

+ After her first steal at the gas station, the camera does a close up as she drives her car. The heart beating/racing furiously. You could see the shock, thrill and tears in her eyes. That scene alone made this performance FAR SUPERIOR. 👏

+ I liked the scene where she discovers her money is stolen and she fights with Mike. She gets dragged out.. and tells the security she can go herself. Her hair is disheveled and no make-up, she is crying, gets-up and the camera follows her walking towards her car, nose bleeding... and then when she drives, shows the closeup of her breakdown - SUPERB! 👏👏

+ I loved her scenes with Sameer - the whole interaction with him the first time their parents arrange the meeting. She looked so good standing next to the tree, smiling.. and thinking how seedha-saadha this ladka is while he went on and on about his future marriage plans. Also the scene later, where she asks him to leave her.

+The whole comic scene where she tells her dad about why poor upbringing by the father is the cause behind the lipstick bandit's crimes. 😆

This is indeed a WELL-ROUNDED, FULL-BLOODED PERFORMANCE! ⭐️

You can feel the human being - Praful. All the major critics have underscored this factor in their reviews.

I hope she continues to take risks with her roles in future and give new characters. I'm sure the lukewarm BO reception will only add more fuel to her second schedule of Manikarnika. All the best!
