Dhanush in the remake of Barfi - Page 3

Asides, Dhanush is an outstanding actor.
One of the best in the country, there are few actors who can do justice to Barfi role, other than Barfi, and thankfully Dhanush is one.

If there is one actress who can not only nail Jhilmil and but also run away with it. It is Priyamani.

The magic of Barfi lies in Ranbir doing it . Cannot fathom seeing anyone in that role.

Sorry Priyanka was outstanding but it was not something which overshadowed Barfi. It is like saying one striker overshadowed another when both of them scored hattricks and both of them assisted each other.

Barfi was a good film with some good performances. Dhanush would definitely do justice to the male lead role I believe. It's the female leads casting and director I'm worried about. I'm hoping that they cast a capable actress for Jhilmil. Someone mentioned here Priyamani, would love to see her doing it but she is getting married I doubt she would take up the role or be offered. If not her then I would like to see Amala Paul or Radhika Apte in the role. Or anyone else who is capable enough to bring justice to Jhilmil role which PC did so beautifully. Ileana can reprise her role in the remake. Honestly cannot see anyone else bring the same charm and beauty to the story like Ileana did. Was the most natural performance of the film imo.

Why do people overrate Dhanush on this forum? He's strictly OK. I've watched most of his movies because I'm a Tamilian. There's only one other person who could nail Barfi as much as Ranbir did and it's Kamal Haasan.

So they're going to remake a movie that's already a mishmash of different films? Also can't imagine anyone else besides Ranbir and PC, they totally justified their roles.

He is a decent actor but not the best of Tamil cinema if u consider Vikram...

Barfi is easily one of the best movies of this decade and consequently boasts some phenomenal acting. I'm almost certain Dhanush will be superb! The only drawback for him is the parallels that would be drawn. Chaplin-esque demeanor comes easily to Ranbir whereas Dhanush is more earthy. I hope he can bring different touch to his Barfi.

I don't understand why people get so hell bent on proving that XYZ is better than Ranbir. It has become lame now. Historically Bollywood has never been actor's arena. It is star arena. The fact that some one with matinee good looks can play something so flawlessly was astonishing. Dhanush has already attempted Barfi kind of role so many time that he will never be able to bring freshness. And accept it, he is kind of old for the role. Hell even current Ranbir is old for that role.

Could Hrithik have made better Bajiroa? Or could Ranveer have been better Akbar? Or Varun been better PK? Everything is mere speculation till end result. 😆
