Barfi is complete package. From eccentric Anurag Baus' direction to Priyanka/ Ilena- Ranbir's combo to Ranbir's good looking, good natured, good for nothing character . But it feels nice to see that someone as talented as Dhanush wants to attempt to do it. At least Bollywood can boast that someone is remaking their stories than other way round. Which has sort of become very rare for Bollywood.

Ranbir will always have privilege of being original Barfi who set a benchmark of how that character should be played. 😳

No one can ever act better than RK as Barfi. Add to that he was so incredibly charming and endearing as Murphy. Its the finest performance of all time by any mainstream actor. I don't think Dhanush will be able to bring out the innocence in his portrayal. It was a once in a lifetime character and performance! I don't remember the last time an A lister BW actor receiving such phenomenal accolades for a particular performance from the critics.

I've only seen Dhanush in Raanjhanaa, don't understand South language or ever watched his work in South so can't comment on his work in South industry but whatever little I've seen of him, he seems like a fine actor to me. I'm glad he has taken up this role & would like to see how he portrays it on-screen. All the best to him!

He has that endearingness so I think he'd be gr8.

He is a better actor than Bira to be sure, i think he will give his own touch to the character. Though barfi is bira's best performance, but for me the show stealer was jhilmil i.e pc <3 The movie wouldn't have been what it was, if not for pc .

Dhanush will nail it so don't have worry about that but question is who will be Jhilmil in the remake one? I can't imagine anyone except PC in that role

Dhanush will be excellent in the role and of course better than Ranbir in Barfi. Original also should have had a better actor. Jhilmil stole the show in Barfi.

I am the only one who find it rubbish when people say Jhilmil stole the show from Barfi??
Sorry Priyanka was outstanding but it was not something which overshadowed Barfi. It is like saying one striker overshadowed another when both of them scored hattricks and both of them assisted each other.
