The lyrics of the song safar are haunting too.. but somehow the song never caught up. Wonder if the same thing would have happened to this song?

Huge huge hit. The song is timeless, I cry every time i hear that song. Soulful song about life and love. One of the best songs from Bollywood. Sad, the songs these days dont have much of that magic and melody.

I wish for so much these days. Even ADHM songs don't leave that impact. I lived the lyrics of safar.. but couldn't really connect with the song. I wish the music directors and producers focus on getting expressions into the song which is sorely missing. Sadly they ask all singers to sing only in one particular way and don't put the effort into making new melodies. All are just remixes nowadays

That song is my all time favourite and 100% it would've been a big hit today too. It's an evergreen classic and I think most would agree one of THE best songs Bollywood has churned out ever!
