Here's the reason why Salman has most of the opening records

It's because out of all the Khans, he is the one that do the most action masala movies.
Action masala movies open the best most the time (Dhoom series, Sigham, Rowdy Rathore, Ghajini, etc.)
Aamir also beat opening records when he did that genre movies. Dhoom 3 and Ghajini beat the records when they released.
Recently, Salman proved that he needs action masala genre to have opening record (Tubelight). What happened to his star power with tubelight?

It's funny how, long time back, one of the Salman's fans made a topic mocking Aamir and saying he can only give a hit when the movie is content driven whereas Srk and Salman are the real superstars who can turn garbage into gold(not the exact words but on same lines) and now, how suddenly the wind changed it's direction with tubelight and bad wom and genre have become so critical for him

OT : I don't think ridiculously bad movies can work irrespective of genre but masala movies do have an edge..an average masala flick with decent music plus holiday season seem like a recipe for a hit..isse aagey baro to stardom jaane

The last action masala by Salman was actually Kick in 2014 . Since then only Tubelight has opened below par

I personally don't give a damn for opening records or the 1st weeks or first week and a half or 3.5 week records, these are all useless what matters are the lifetime totals because only on that will the verdict be given. Aamir has a different approach he work to target lifetime collections his target audience is different than Salman so there's no use in comparing. So the whole opening talk is bogus anyway

Sultan is to date the only hindi film to make 200 crore in 1 week itself.

Since he entered 100 crore club Salman has never fallen out of it. Unlike everyone else

Sultan is a masala action movie.
PRDP is also a masala movie, but not full on action.
