problems then:Ajay Devgn

In an interview with an agency, Ajay said, "The newer generation of audiences are not loyal to anybody. We have been lucky that a segment of the public has been loyal to us for the past 25 years. So we have that plus point. But otherwise, they will only go and watch the film that they feel they'll understand,"
He also expressed that with the advent of social media, the mystery around a star's life has died. "I feel that the aura of the star is dying. I liked the mystery that came with being a star, I still do. But today, there is so much exposure. Say, if one is not active on the social media, they may start feeling insecure seeing others doing it. They may feel the pressure."
Devgn admitted that, when he started off as an actor, he never had any ego clashes with his contemporaries. But now the scenario has changed. Admits Ajay, "I have worked with Salman, Aamir and other heroes. All of us used to work together and there were no ego problems. Nobody was insecure about what the other person was doing. Earlier, we used to have 'Golmaal'-like fun atmosphere on the sets of almost every film. Today, you can't expect to have that. Maybe the newer generation has that problem."
He continues, "But their never-to-please attitude is a good thing. It keeps you on your toes. You will have to make good films. You will have to improve the quality. Anyway, all the films cannot work at the same time. Only 30 films do well out of the 100 average ones that are made."
Ajay Devgn also feels that Bollywood needs to pull up its socks as Hollywood cinema is being preferred over Hindi films these days by the audience. Concludes Ajay, "It's sad today that Hollywood films are doing way better than our own films. Due to Netflix and all, you get to see a lot in the comfort of your home. It's important to have that cinema experience. If you won't bring that to the audience, they'd prefer watching films at home."

As a die hard Ajay Devgan fan, I agree that there was no ego when he worked with Salman, Aamir, Akshay, Sunil Shetty, Sanjay Dutt and ect. He pretty much got along with them pretty well. However, there was an issue when Karan Arjun happened.

In the 90s, he when clashed with Akki a few times. Even his movie Vijaypath lost to HANK despite taking a better opening at the BO. So there was no ego back then. However, there was one at least twice with two of his films which clashed with two top banners in this industry.

Ajay is right about Hollywood films doing better but that's audience taste right there so you can't blame them. If he feels that way then he needs step up and find something that can draw attention to audience. Unlike Single Screen audience. Multiplexes are not keen on him but hopefully this warrior Tanaji Malusare which bring something to table depending on how audiences respond to the film.

He's done great movies like Zakhm, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Omkara, Company, Once Upon a Time a Mumbai, Deewangee, Drishyam, Shivaay, Gangaajal, Raincoat and ect. As a fan, I think he should do content based or thriller is good choice depending on the script and he can do it because he's done it the past. Just stay away from Massala movies, Romance & Comedy.

He's good in that particular genre. Movies like Dilwale, Vijaypath, HDCS, Major Saab, Raincoat, Pyaar to Hona Hi Tha, U Me Aur Tum and ect are examples. It just that he shouldn't be doing it now at his age unless he's paring with Kajol or even Tabu.
