It's saddening to see people compare the ban on a movie about female sexuality to a show about justifying child marriage, which is a human rights violation.

TV shows and BW influence people. Things like stalking are normalized as romance. If a girl says no to a guy who is in "love" with her, it could lead to this.

This happened in my home town. I have cousins who live here, who are that age. Who take metros. Who work in IT. I can live my quiet sanitized American life or I can do my part in protesting when I see stalking in a movie with a social message like TEPK.

Did you called for a ban for Kaabil when it was released since a woman was raped twice? Did we call for a ban on Raees because it could encourage criminal elements in the country. Did we call for Philauri's ban since people could influence and commit suicides? Are we going to call for a ban on movies like Haseena Parkar or Dutt since people can encourage to become terrorists and criminals? Its people's problem if they get influenced for things they should know better not to do.

maine ek baar tv par 'Omkara' film dekhne ki koshish ki thi...par aadhi film beep-beep me hi nikal gayi. 😆

I remember there was a time when adult movies were shown on cable tv as well as channels like Star-movies or zee MGM... but all this was changed once the public protested and the Information and broadcast ministry deemed it inappropriate for tv channels to show adult content, because tv channels are easily accessible by children...

now, when we already have such strict levels of censorship on tv channels, since years ago, then how can we justify a show that justifies or glorifies child-marriage...?

agar censorship se problem hai to protest against all censorship on tv... otherwise censorship on such a topic is well justified in the current TV censorship scenario.

No because rape is real. I protest females being treated badly be it Badri or Bahubali. Raees is based on a real story, so is Haseena Parker and Dutt. There is a difference between a biopic of a person who has lived a life of criminal activity and a fictional show. You can learn from those lives s they are not a bed of roses and have life lessons. A fictional show that somehow twists logic to make child marriage possible is not the same.

it makes lot of sense. Yet.. i will stand by 'ban the show' petition. i don't believe in banning culture and do believe in live and let live policy but will make an exception here.
Don't like it don't watch it. easy enough. and that's why barring one odd serial once a while there is nothing to watch on desi tv.
Trp system is flawed. minority gets to dictate what others should watch. high time others stand up and let the people in power know what we DON'T want to watch. Adults in disturbing and ridiculous sequences is one things.. child another. A new low. If this show is banned maybe it will serve as wake up call to all those who are churning appalling content by dozen. since people of tele land (even bolly and other woods for that matter) understand only language of money.. hit them where it hurts most.
Unlike movies tele viewers don't get to voice their choice. if this is how they can speak up.. let them. if banning the show and turning off the money tap is the only way to make tele land power ups own up to their responsibility and show some respect towards their craft.. so be it.
