Havent seen the show, from what I gathered from the promo, the kid has a crush on her, not unlike the crushes kids have on their teacher.. She marries him to repay the debt of his father and protect him from killers... The kid would not even know the meaning of suhargraat.. I dont see what the commotion is all about

Banning something is not right. Just a few days back people on this very forum were ranting against Pahlaj Nihalani because of censorship and now everyone is petitioning for a ban. So it's ok to censor what you think is offensive now? Then why rant against the censor board. Don't like something don't watch it. The TRPs will automatically come down and the show will have to be pulled off air.

I feel people are reacting too fast. And these same people enjoy watching GOT.

I dont understand the hoopla regarding this. Yes it might be disturbing to some but are we not all mature to decide what we watch and what we shouldnt. Its never fair to force my morals onto others and shut down some serial they are watching or following just because I have a problem with it. Thats why there is a remote control. I would like to ask how many people petitioned when Tommen or Geoffrey were marrying Margery in Game of Thrones?

True!!!
If anything, the time slot should be changed to late night if the show can give a wrong message to kids. Infact kids shouldn't watch any of the TV serials in the first place and it's the job of their parents to ensure that.
And I'm sure that adults are mature enough to differentiate between right and wrong. If they are not then movies on criminals should also not be made.
A lot of money has been invested in this show, also many people's jobs and careers depends on it. Banning the show just because it doesn't matches with your moral grounds isn't right.
Freedom of expression should be given to everyone even if it's regressive.

@Bold Some things are universally wrong, not just offensive. Child marriage is one of them. Tomorrow if this kid dies and the woman decides to climb into the pyre for Sati and they justify that by some twisted logic ? Some things are universally wrong, not just offensive. This is one of them and I will absolutely call for a ban. In fact I shall look up the petition and sign. No logical reason for this to be on Prime family TV watching time. This is NOT family TV.
