I cannot say if Aman would have fell in love with Jhalli tomboyish Anjali or not since that arc was not explored in the movie, but I DO think Aman's loved Anjali beyond her physical attributes.. I remember that scene where junior Anjali (i.e. Shahrukh's daughter) goes to him and tells him that since he is so handsome he deserves someone like the VJ (Neelam played that part) that small Anjali was fan of.. But Aman says " ... Haan woh (Anjali--Kajol) Nati hai moti hai par main usi se shaadi karunga ( meaning that although she is short and plump, she is the one for me ).

So yeah I personally think Aman did love Anjali more than Rahul ever did...

Its of course best decision for Aman and even Rahul, but worst decision for Anjali...marrying such a shallow person, that too with a 8 year old daughter...

The movie has such a shallow and meaningless story that if it wasn't for the magical combination of SRK-Kajol and the beautiful songs, it would have sinked without a trace...
