My parents used movies not just for entertainment but to relate to India and it's culture, learn language and showcase so many aspects of it. Despite those lofty goals, my dad's favorite actor is Thalaiva. I would repeatedly ask him how he could like Thalaiva when there are so many better actors around and he would say because he was happy watching a Thalaiva movie. And there was value in that.

I am boring people with this story because going to an SRK movie is like that. Watching him onscreen makes me happy and as long as he makes a movie I will go. So I got paisa vasool like that.

But there is this other part of me that sits on message boards and analyzes movies, that blasts actors who I think deserve it and it would be very hypocritical of me if I did not do it to my favorite actor.

What the hell was the script and what was Shah on when he chose it ? There was no sort of engagement at all, well not on the level that caused me to like this man from childhood. Who made crap scripts like KKHH make sense because he was in it. Who made Raj such an iconic character. Where is that SRK ? It really is appalling that with each passing movie that actor is buried deeper and deeper. It actually hurts to see this because I know what this man is capable of.

Speaking of crap scripts, I have mocked KJO numerous times for his scripts. After this, I will not cause I have a new target. Imtiaz. what the hell was Imtiaz on when he came up with this ? How can a man who made Socha Na Tha come up with this crap ? Is it on purpose, hubris because he knows Imitiaz the name has a certain cachet.

Anu tried valiantly. But she is no Kajol to make crap like KKHH shine despite the script and she had no help from Shah. Europe was pretty, but BTDT.

Shah really, really, really needs to evaluate what kind of an actor he wants to be. I want to go to a Shah movie because the movie excites me not seeing him on screen makes me happy. I hope he will soon find that actor buried deep cause I miss him so much.

I can't rate a Shah movie so no rating, only ranting. 😳

SRK should be blamed for his script sense here,but IMHO imtiaz should take the full blame.
IMHO movie is as good as the director. Imtiaz failed terribly here. You have two competent actors, huge budget and an adequate music director, and you did spent some more weeks on working the script. And not just try to mix so many genres and stretch the movie.
I mean after the underperformance of Tamasha(another Internet fab. which I found bad), he should have understood and tried to make a movie which the Indian audience could have connected well. I felt bad for SRK, because he is good in this movie, actually recently IMO he has great(FAN, did not liked the movie tho) to excellent(DZ, Raaes) to good (JHMS). But his scripts not doing good for him. And I am not talking about BO collection but the memory of the movies in public mind.
