Sivagami was standing there looking at her grandson sleeping. Veerabhadradeva, her Bhalla's son. How she wished to see her Baahu's child too grow up with Bhadra. At that moment she saw Prasanna entering and composed herself.

"Enti Prasanna?

"Bavagaru came to take Kattappa with him.

Sivagami frowned.

"He was not on royal grounds if that's what you are worried about Rajamata

Sivagami looked at Prasanna. She remembered Kattappa's and Naayaka's promise to take the child first.

"Bavagaru is happy.

Prasanna added and saw a fleeting smile on Sivagami's face which vanished as fast as it came.

"Devasena needs us the most now.

Sivagami closed her eyes and saw the scene that happened in the court a few days back behind her closed her eyes.

Saying Prasanna marched out taking Bhadra for feeding. Sivagami stood there unreacting. She knew that somewhere Baahu was at right. But she saw him struggle these past 8 months. Even Devasena. And she knew that they were happy wherever they were.

But she also could never forgive him for descending the throne at such crucial time. If only he stayed as King, this situation would never have arised maybe!

She disguised herself in simpleton clothes and left the palace to the place where Baahu and Devasena were staying.

On her way she proudly saw all the changes in the village. The changes Baahu said he would do once he was on the throne, but he still did them even if he was not a king.

It was close to dawn as she reached their place and hid behind a rock there as she saw Baahu pacing outside as Kattappa, sulochana and Naayaka tried calming him down with no effect.

Then she saw him smile and look at the sky. She too saw the sun rising and smiled. So her grandchild was here and it was the best time of the day.

She saw the proceedings as Kattappa and Naayaka went inside. But frowned looking at Sulochana standing outside. Were Baahu and Devasena giving into the superstitions of the villagers?

But she chuckled seeing Naayaka pulling Sulochana inside not minding her protests. She knew Devasena well. She moved closer to their place. She saw them enjoying time with the newborn and her eyes welled up. But then she heard Baahu.

"Mama, Amma ki..

"Cheptanu baahu

"Vadina ki kuda

Sivagami understood that Baahu's mind was still there in the palace around his people. But certain things were better they way they were. She moved to the back side and saw the midwife cleaning the baby while Devasena was waiting.

She veiled herself and moved to help the midwife clean and change Devasena. If the Midwife felt odd or if Devasena identified her, they did not show and she did not care.

For a moment, she held her grandson and felt the same feeling when she held Baahu. She looked at him. He opened his eyes and looked at her. His eyes.. Were like Devasena. But his stance..

"Mahendra Baahubali

She whispered and her grandson cooed making her smile in contrast to the eyes that were glassy.

She then gave the baby to the midwife and left the place seeing her son getting into the routine of a father very easily.

Prasanna sighed seeing Rajamata entering the palace secretly. She just got the news about the Devasena Amarendra's child through Kattappa. She looked down at her sleeping son.

"Nanna Bhadra! I dont have hopes on your father and the hopes I had on your Nannamma is diminishing with every passing moment. Looks like we should only do something.

"What would you do?

Prasanna looked up to see Bhalla standing there.

"What?

"You said you would do something? Planning to bring my brother back?

"He and Devasena have self respect. So I know they will not come back here

He rushed there and took him out. He walked around trying to calm him.

Devasena chuckled sitting up. Amarendra scowled.

Saying she settled herself and Amarendra tried to help her.

"You go and freshen yourself.

Devasena glared at him. But both chuckled as Amarendra went to do his morning chores. He came back fresh and took his sleeping son put him on his lap. He saw Devasena sitting there, cupping her face that was glowing and her smile only made it more beautiful.

"For all these months.. You fought with me for a daughter. But look at you caring for our son!

"As I said already, girl or boy doesn't matter. He is our child. And he reminds me of you. He has your eyes.

She said chuckling.

Amarendra winked. After 10 full moons of marriage and now after a son, her husband's wink still had the effect on her that her cheeks started warming up making Amarendra laugh happily. Not leaving the chance, Amarendra moved and gave her a peck on her cheek.

At that moment, their son wailed loudly making them both laugh.

"See! He is like you in troubling me

Devasena hit him. She caressed her son's head calming him and smiled leaning on her husband's shoulder and as usual, her fist curled up on his heart making him smile.

"Mahendra Baahubali

She whispered making Amarendra stiffen. Her hand on his heart caressed him.

"I know Amarendra. I saw her.

"I saw her too.

"She cared enough to come here but she did not understand you enough to know the truth.

"She is being played Devasena. Because whatever is happening now, happened with her father too.

"I am not her son either

"Amarendra! Never say that! She cared for you more than her son

"That is the only reason she has left us alive Devsena. Else her punishment for what we did that day would have been capital hanging.

Devasena could not take the sadness in his voice. She held his face and made him look at her. Their eyes met. One held disappointment while the other held assurance.

"You are changing them. Can't you see the villagers being happy? If you were king, you could have done a lot of things. But getting this low to meet your people on regular basis? Not possible. You are doing things that even King could not. So you should stop worrying yourself.

Amarendra smiled and kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes and reveled in the feel.

"Now Now! Amarendra. Get me another saree. I need to change and I also need to tie on my belly

Amarendra frowned and saw a cloth already tied there. Devasena chuckled.

"Amarendra! Stop staring. Its for good. For months I have been carrying him here and now that he is out, by tying this, it would help me. Now go!

Amarendra placed Mahendra beside her on the mattress and went to get what she asked for.

"Ante.. You are man of hidden talents kada? How come you never knew this?

Devasena asked raising her brow. Amarendra chuckled.

"There is a limit for things I can learn. Certain things were left for my wife to teach me.

He said winking and Devasena glared at him. She changed her saree and came and Amarendra helped her settle down. He slowly did her hair and went into the cooking area. He managed to get something and bring it to her.

"Look at my Amarendra doing homely chores.

"Well.. you did not let me before. But now you cannot get there. And I am not letting you! So put up with it

She giggled as he fed her. The milk and rice was not great. But it had everything she needed. It was not heavy. But it had her husband's love. She ate happily though she hated milk. She twitched her nose as he fed her.

"I know I know. Its milk..

"And I know its for your son

"Its for you Devasena. This will help you get back your strength.

But what they both did not say was, there was nothing in their home except for this milk and rice. Devasena fed him too and both managed their meal when Naayaka entered.

"Here comes our maid servant!

Amarendra said making him growl. But he went on to do the usual washings and returned back inside and saw his yuvaraja sleeping with no worries about the world. He wanted to take him. At that moment, Mahendra woke up and looked around making noise. He turned to see Amarendra and Devasena doing nothing about it. He frowned.

"Mena mama vai undi, alludu ni ethukoventi Naayaka? Being uncle, its your right

Said Devasena making Naayaka's eyes well up. He bent down and carefully took his Yuvaraja making sure his hands were neat and also he held the child correct. As soon as he came in his arms, he saw Yuvaraja closing his eyes and sleep with his head. Naayaka's eyes held so much emotions that made Amarendra and Devasena smile and shake their heads.

Naayaka looked down at the baby.

"Maa Yuvaraja!

He whispered and held the baby close to him.
