The really GREAT directors of Hindi Cinema in no particular order - GURU DUTT, BIMAL ROY, K ASIF, HRISHIKESH MUKHERJEE, RAJ KAPOOR, RAJU HIRANI .. Other than that all others are somewhat overrated .. Would have add Ashutosh if he hadn't made any film after Jodha Akber ..

Even BB was inspired from THEO ANGELOPOULOS film "Eternity ana A Day" and had VJ Prasad as scriptwriter

Hmmm his best work till date for me is still New York. I know exactly how the film ends but have still watched it multiple times because the thriller element never erases even after multiple viewings. The way the story unravels, the bond between Katrina, Neil and John, the beautiful songs and the perfect placement of them, the strong impact that the scenes leave (especially that scene with Nawazuddin and Katrina) and the emotions they elicit, the way the ending still hits so hard, the tight editing...I could go on. Everything flowed so beautifully in the film.
