He seems like a nice enough guy but Tubelight proves he is a very limited director.

I think he reckons because he was a documentary filmmaker (which he mentions like in every interview!) that he is some sort of visionary but his films are standard bollywood fares.

Imitiaz Ali is the same - think they're innovative filmmakers but actually don't make particularly good films.

Bollywood is a mess right now mainly because the directors are stuck in this bollywood bubble and can't seem to get out of it.

Just my two cents.

Phantom was pretty bad. Couldnt even stand for 15mins. I like saif but it was difficult to watch.

I totally agree.

Phantom was boring so was that Tiger movie. He needs good songs and Salman's star power otherwise is a Thanda director. Very Plain. Editing is also not sharp in his films.

BB too I found overrated.

This time there was no Hit "Out an Out Salman Song" nor typical Salman. So the movie opened badly .

But I do think Monday will be a good day for it.

Hes a good director but a bad to average writer

BB succeeded because of the writer of Bahubali

But sallu fans will throw Kabir Khan under the bus now 😆

^Tubelight is a very transparent attempt at replicating Bajrangi success. In the other movie, it was Pakistan. Here, it's China. Add in a cute kid and silly sentimental crying and melodrama. It worked with Bajragi because it was authentic. Here it was cynical.

But yeah, anyone's fault but Salman's.
