Exactly. If the movie was made one after the other, as things happened, people won't have been drawn to the theatres just to see how Mahendra killed bhalla. They were drawn to the theatres to see why katappa killed Bahubali. Who Mahendra exactly was and how he happened. Who devsena was. What exactly happened that night that Shivagami left palace with an arrow on her back and a baby in hands. How exactly katappa could kill Bahubali after he being declared the king and katappa being a slave to the throne? These were the questions. Going one after the other, Bahubali 2 would surely have been dissatisfying given that it would actually be the story of the raw Mahendra. If amarendra really appeared before, Mahendra would be extremely raw a character which would not enlighten Bahubali 2 the way it happened this way. Also Avanthika appearing after devsena Would be dim as hell. So ssr did a wonderful job in exactly splitting the two halves.
